JOSHUA "JJ" VALLOW, TYLEE RYAN, TAMMY DAYBELL, & CHARLES VALLOW: State of Idaho/Arizona vs. Lori *GUILTY* & Chad Daybell for murder

Police seem to be no closer to finding 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan than they were when this story began months ago.

Since that time, the story has gained international attention as it’s taken twists and turns involving a purported cult, dead spouses, delusions of divinity and preparing for the end of the world. Despite all the angles, and the ever-growing number of people related to the case, the facts remain essentially the same as when it was first announced.

The two children remain missing and the parents, Lori (Vallow) Daybell, and her new husband, Chad Daybell, refuse to disclose their whereabouts to police. Both have been named persons of interest in the disappearance of the children. Law enforcement is also investigating the deaths of the Daybells’ previous respective spouses, Charles Vallow and Tammy Daybell, though neither Chad nor Lori have been named suspects in those cases.

Written timeline of events

• April 3, 2018 - Tylee Ryan's father, Joseph Ryan, dies. Death ruled heart attack.
• December 2018 - Chad Daybell & Lori Vallow make first appearance on Preparing a People podcast.
• February 2019 - Charles Vallow files for divorce from Lori, claiming she viewed herself as a god preparing for the second coming, and she would kill him if he got in her way.
• February - April 2019 - Lori disappears for nearly two months, leaving her children with others.
• June 2019 - Lori's niece demands a divorce from her husband, who says she shares similar beliefs to her aunt.
• July 11, 2019 - Charles Vallow shot and killed by Lori's brother Alex Cox. Shooting initially ruled self-defense.
• August 2019 - Lori moves to Rexburg, Idaho with kids
• September 3, 2019 - Joshua "JJ" Vallow enrolled in school
• September 23, 2019 - JJ last attended school
• September 24, 2019 - Lori unenrolls JJ from school, saying she would be homeschooling him.
• September 2019 - Tylee also seen in September, but it's unclear when and where (she had graduated early)
• October 2, 2019 - Lori's niece's ex-husband was shot at, missing his head by inches. Shooter was driving a vehicle registered to Charles Vallow.
• October 9, 2019 - Tammy Daybell, Chad's wife, called 911 and said a masked man shot at her with a paintball gun.
• October 19, 2019 - Tammy Daybell dies, death is ruled natural
• October 25, 2019 - Tylee, or someone using her phone, texts a friend
• Late October / Early November 2019 - Chad Daybell & Lori Vallow get married
• November 26, 2019 - Welfare check requested for JJ at the request of extended family - police are told he is in Arizona with family, but he is not
• November 27, 2019 - Police return to serve a search warrant, finding the Daybell's gone
• December 12, 2019 - Lori's brother, who had shot her ex-husband, dies mysteriously in Arizona
• December 20, 2019 - Search for JJ and Tylee goes public
• December 30, 2019 - LE says Lori knows where her children are but will not cooperate
• January 25, 2020 - Chad & Lori are located in Hawaii, served with a notice that she must produce the children within 5 days
• January 30, 2020 - Lori fails to produce JJ and Tylee

From what I heard he was subpoenaing her to testify for the defense and had been unable to get her served prior. Not sticking up for defiense but the two Mels know their stuff and how to avoid papers being served.

Nate explained that they’ve been trying to subpoena her for years! How does some point point avoid us subpoena for years? I think it’s funny.

NOTHING replaces live testimony. I only wish I could watch such in all that is in all cases all of the time. I do appreciate all that summarize or cove when we can't though. Tom in Delphi, Nate and Linda here, etc. and all their hard work and efforts and those sharing such as well.

This one though is televised so when one has the time, I'd suggest listening to it if not looking at your screen while you do even if you are doing housework, etc.

It is my belief all trials should be live and televised and when one is, if I can, I am going to watch it live. Nothing in printing can ever portray what you see in the person or hear in the voice or tone.

I can’t watch it during work and I don’t have time to watch all the testimony at home. I’m enjoying it anyway.

Allegedy Lori was a bit uncomfortable with the zombie thing at first and of course the first zombie Chad named was her hub Charles.... By the way Chad was far from still when Mel G testified. That's another thing watching live in trials one sees.

Of course I started with their get togethers and castings to cast out the evil spirit in Charles....

This is from me not Nate but something just reminded me, Prior asked Mel about her dislike or lack of closeness to Tylee (paraphrasing) and she said there was no relationship or of Tylee talking to her or vice versa ever basically. Not just a lack of one, there was none and never had anything to do with each other.

Also the call disconnected Mel claimed was natural but I think was a hang up and Nate says same.

So Mel does lie. She even admitted lying. I dislike this woman intensely. She changes and/or adds to stories. BUT is necessary in the conviction of these two but she is not igiving all she could to that end imo. And was more involved than admits. Her hub has visions by the way and has that gift.

I go through a lot of the same stuff that I already knew, and then some nugget will pop up that I didn’t remember or never knew before! I think that’s what keeps me intrigued about this case.

That is kind of what went on today. Much imo was new or I had forgotten but I don't think so. SAme but then like WHAT?? And it has been clear this past week or so how much we have all stuffed in but forgotten as well. AND we have never seen Prior crossing GIbb other than for mere minutes in a preliminary and so that is all new. Not a thing seen before at all.

I haven’t got to the point that discusses what the heck this is all about.

I HIGHLY SUGGEST WATCHING IT. Go to Linda's all day one and the end of it as the end of the court day was this. And then she replayed it before chatting some and ending for the day. I am still not clear on all of it but what I first predicted when we heard of this last minute motion it was a defense stunt. Then I thought it wasn't when both sides were against the motion interfering with eh trial about to start. Now today it was said Prior needed help these guys said and.... So it WAS a defense stunt? But just listening to Boyce tear them one is worth listening to the actual thing and not reading it or hearing about it.

All know I am not the biggest Boyce fan and since it has been probably a week I am sure he likely consulted with senior judges, etc. on how to handle this but he was ON IT and NOT shy and told them off.

Recommend ALL watch it.

Yeah I think I recall I thought it was Mel P avoiding a subpoena on courthouse steps or at a grand jury proceeding or some such but maybe it was Mel G, maybe they have been trying with both I don't know. The fact they know how to avoid being served papers says a lot imo. My mom was subpoenaed once, seemed to know it was coming, maybe they had called and I said GET OUT AND LEAVE, and she was like how can I, that isn't legal I told them I was here or some such lol. NOT. You have to understand she is someone who would never be subpoenaed nor know she did not have to allow service and could avoid it. So OF COURSE SHE ended up served but it did not work out so well for who subpoenaed her when she told the truth the one time she was ever on a stand. Most people have no clue they can avoid service and it is not illegal, etc. But these people clearly KNOW. But then too what is their fear, just go in and don't say things that help their side however the scope would be different.

True. That's where I am at most of the time. In its very start I saw a bit before going to work and was almost thankful I coudln't watch live s I was irritated with the start but then after days today was first time I could and I found it worth it. i have to count on solid summaries in most cases. Tom in Delphi. Nate or Linda in this one, both ideally, etc. And whether I ever get to go back and watch the entire trial is debatable. Maybe one day though. I never knew much about Arias and watched it years later on Court TV when ife sucked but I was not working and needed a big distraction from the deaths and things we had been dealing with and watched every minute. So even if I don't see all of Chad's now maybe one day I will. I just know that recording and streaming should be done with all. Then that option is there as well for us all to see the system at work.
