ONGOING CRIME BREAKING NEWS!

Starting in January 2020, this thread is about the news as it breaks!

Bernard Madoff says he is dying and is asking a judge for compassionate release from prison, where he is serving 150 years for orchestrating the largest Ponzi scheme in history, according to a Wednesday federal court filing.

Madoff, 81, has terminal kidney failure and a life expectancy of less than 18 months. When the court sentenced him, “it was clear that Madoff’s 150-year prison sentence was symbolic for three reasons: retribution, deterrence, and for the victims,” the court filing states. “This Court must now consider whether keeping Madoff incarcerated … is truly in furtherance of statutory sentencing goals and our society’s value and understanding of compassion.”

Madoff said in the request for compassionate release that he “does not dispute the severity of his crimes.”

IMO- stay in jail

Man linked to former missing teen Alicia Navarro is charged with child sexual abuse

The man linked with the disappearance of Alicia Navarro, a teen who had previously been missing, has been charged with child sexual abuse.

Edmund Davis, the 36-year-old man from Montana who reportedly had been in a sexual relationship with the now-19-year-old girl has been arrested and charged with two felony counts of abuse of children over material found on his cellphone.

Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen announced charges of two felony counts of sexual abuse of children resulting from child sexual abuse material found on the suspect's cell phone.

The attorney general said that the child sex abuse material was found on his cellphone, which was seized when a search warrant was executed in Havre, Montana earlier this year. Davis is being held in the Hill County Detention Center on a $1 million bond as ordered by state District Court Judge Kaydee Snipes Ruiz. After Navarro turned up to the police in July, the Havre Police Department served a search warrant on Davis's apartment, as they learned that the teenage girl was living there.

Dozens of images of suspected child sex abuse material were located on the device, confirmed to belong to Davis. Following their protocols, Glendale Police selected ten images from those found and brought them to medical experts.

The review determined the individuals depicted to be under the age of 13, with two images of children under the age of 5, the attorney general said.

Elderly West Virginia man indicted for 20-year-old cold case murder of missing child
An elderly man has been indicted for the murder of a child who has been missing in West Virginia for more than 20 years.

Larry Webb was indicted Tuesday on a first-degree murder charge for the death of Natasha "Alex" Carter, according to Raleigh County Prosecuting Attorney Ben Hatfield.

Carter and her mother, Susan Carter, have not been seen since 2000.

At the time of their disappearance, Susan and Natasha’s father were having a custody dispute and the girl had moved in with her mother and her mother’s new husband. Not long after she moved in, the pair vanished.

In August, the FBI confirmed it searched a home in Mabscott, in relation to the case.

At the house, a caregiver for Webb, who knew Carter and her daughter, said the FBI had questioned Webb and told him that a bullet with the 10-year-old’s blood on it was removed from a bedroom wall. The basement of the home had also been searched, the caregiver said.

“I don’t have any idea what happened to her,” Webb said during a September interview with WCHS following the search of the home. When asked if he remembered the last time he saw her, Webb said he did not.

“I don’t remember,” Webb said. “I have dementia. I can’t say exactly.”

She was now an adult but his phone is full of children, who thinks there are odds on the bet he has hurt other children through both recent years or even through his lifeime? I do.

So how old is he? I am betting he is no 70 or even 80 year old but just guessing.

It is good he knows he has dementia. Self awareness is a good thing. Plus it sure comes in handy.

He’s in his 80’s. Oh. I have “Dementia”. Really?. BULLS*T!!!! You can tell how someone talks. Let’s see your medical records. It affects short term memory. My grandma died from it. My dad has it. My dad is to where he can’t follow conversations. It progresses slowly. Then at a certain point,The person declines quickly.

How could they release this moron?! He didn't show any signs of being disturbed?!!!! This is absolutely horrific.
When they do catch him. It was "A mental health crisis". "Legally insane" Or "Temporary insanity". I can see it now!

Wow. A 27 year old and a 15 year old like why and how?

Senator lives across the street. That is just an odd fact I guess.

My state. Although it is not my part of it. All the big cities and big crime are in the southern part along with the biggest part of the politics, not that we don't have any but it is an entirely different animal, almost like living in two different states other than we are under the same taxs, laws, governor, etc. Rural and small town versus more populated. They had Dahmer for instance. The parade thing. More. Lots more. Tons more.

I read that. A six year old!!!
This is horrid but i went back to read the link and this clearly is not the full story. And he never talked but they assumed it was a hate crime and assumed the reasons behind it. He was their landlord and rented to them I take it for some time? I am not doubting nor do I know anything but they fail to link it with a reason and I am just saying there is not a full story here yet it goes full blown into even Biden being involved. And of course then it gets tied immediately to Palestine and Israel, etc. again with no proof or basis given,.

I don't know and the man very likely did this don't get me wrong but again why were they safe from him the entire time they lived there until now? And why would he rent to them to begin with if so fulll of hate towards such? I assume from this article he is "their" landlord, much is not clear.

This is one thread that always has to come last for me to keep up with. Just taking my last few minutes to try to get as in touch and up to speed as I can on the site. I was sooo FAR behind and will always be behind in the basement. It bites. Miss it.
