HAVERHILL, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Mass. State Police and Haverhill Police Department seek the public’s help in finding 6 missing children.

According to Massachusetts State Police, Haverhill crews responded to a report of child abuse on May 10. When officers arrived, they said the victim pointed out that her step-father and mother abused her along with her seven siblings.

Officials confirmed the parents and other family members of the children have not cooperated to help find them.

The current location of the six youngest siblings is unknown at this time, but are possibly in the Randolph area.

State Police has provided descriptions for the children:

  • Omnisty Great, black male, 7 months old
  • Cyper Great, black male, 11 months old
  • Cyphaya Great, black female, age 3
  • Journea Great, black female, age 5
  • Odyessea Great, black female, age 6
  • Jatari Baker-Wooden, black male, age 9

If you or anyone has any information regarding the whereabout of the children contact the Haverhill Police Detective Conor Clark at 978-722-1566.

More sources. Mostly the same information.

This is awful. No one is cooperating. Unbelievable. I get such a sick feeling from this. I'm curious how there is a 7 month old and an 11 month old. I probably missed it.

Noticed that right off too. So either a blended family or an adopted or foster child, etc.

Missing children. Uncooperative parents. Parents then weren't looking for the children. Abuse claims by a child.

So happy they are safe. Doubt though they can relax as no doubt they are in the system or back in the system not that some are old enough to know...

HAVERHILL, Mass. —
The parents and grandmother of six Massachusetts siblings who went missing after police opened a child abuse investigation are facing multiple charges, according to the Essex Count District Attorney's Office.

Jameaka Conway, 37, of Haverhill, described as the children's mother, is charged with five counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a child under the age of 14; one count of intimidation of a witness; one count of assault and battery; and one count of threat to commit a crime.

Cypher Great, 37, of Haverhill, described as the children's stepfather, faces four counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a child under the age of 14 and one count of threat to commit a crime.

Conway's mother, 58-year-old Deborah Conway, of Dorchester, has been charged with two counts of kidnapping and endangering a minor by a relative and one count of intimidation of a police officer.

Bail was set Tuesday over the objections of prosecutors for a Haverhill couple charged criminally in connection with six children who went missing last week but were found Saturday, according to Essex District Attorney Paul F. Tucker’s office and legal filings.

Prosecutors requested during a hearing in Haverhill District Court that Jameaka Conway, 37, the mother of the children who went missing, and Cypher Great, 37, the kids’ stepfather, both remain held without bail while the case is pending, according to officials.

But Judge Cesar A. Archilla instead set bail at $10,000 for each defendant, a spokesperson for Tucker said. Conway, Great, and Conway’s mother, Deborah Conway, 58, of Dorchester, were all arraigned last week on various charges in connection with the case. Not guilty pleas were entered for all three defendants.

It wasn’t immediately clear if Jameaka Conway and Great had posted bail; court papers filed Tuesday afternoon said both defendants had been transferred back to jail “in lieu of having posted bail.”

Lawyers for the pair didn’t immediately return calls seeking comment.

Deborah Conway, who’s charged with two counts of kidnapping and endangering a minor by a relative and one charge of intimidation of a police officer, has a dangerousness hearing slated for May 22 and remains held, legal filings show.

Should Jameaka Conway and Great post bail, prosecutors said, they’ll have to abide by conditions including having no contact with the children involved in the case or with Deborah Conway, prosecutors said.

The children are now in the Department of Children and

HAVERHILL — A grandmother who recently went missing for several days with six grandchildren until police found them safe in Randolph was released under a number of conditions after a hearing on Monday in Haverhill District Court.

<snip>

At Monday’s hearing, Assistant District Attorney Cal Skeirik argued for $10,000 cash bail on Deborah Conway, citing her obstruction of the police investigation into the missing children, the many law enforcement agencies that were involved in the search and her attempt to bargain with police in order to return the children “on her terms,” he said.

Deborah Conway’s lawyer, John Fraser of Andover, argued for her release on personal recognizance or personal surety, saying she has close ties to the community, has no convictions on her record, has no money for bail, is not a flight risk, is actively engaged in a job search and has a history of compliance with court orders.

Judge Cesar Archilla found the woman to be dangerous but released her on the conditions that she stay away from and have no contact with her grandchildren, that she also stay away from and have no contact with her daughter, Jameka Conway, 37, of 74 Columbus Park in Haverhill, or with Cypher Great, 37, also of 74 Columbus Park.

Archilla also set “personal surety” bail on Deborah Conway at $5,000, which court officials said she is not required to pay to be released at this time but may be subject to pay in the event she fails to show up for her next court hearings. The judge scheduled a probable cause hearing for June 28.
