Linn County Sheriff Michelle Duncan reports on October 29, at 10:52 a.m., the Linn County Dispatch Center received a report of a suspicious vehicle on a dead-end Forest Service Road off of Highway 20, approximately 30 miles east of Sweet Home, Oregon. A hunter in the area found a gray Toyota Camry with California license plates parked at the end of the road with no one around.

Linn County deputies responded to the location and discovered the vehicle was connected to a female who had been reported missing out of the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office in Northern California. Tammy Pitkin, 54 years old, was reported missing on October 26th but had not been seen by family since October 14th.

Tammy was last known to have been in Sutherlin, Oregon on October 17th. Deputies contacted family members and learned Tammy has no connections to the Linn County area. Members of the Linn County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Team have been searching the area and have found no signs of Tammy at this time.

Tammy is described as being 5’4”, 160 pounds, with blond hair and hazel eyes. Deputies learned Tammy most likely has her two small dogs with her, a white/black/brown Jack Russell Terrier and another smaller white dog. If you have seen Tammy or gave her a ride from the area, please contact the Linn County Sheriff’s Office at 541-967-3911.

Sounds almost like the Debra Collier case. Not that it couldn't be entirely different but both women, vehicles found, in an area not known to be somewhere they frequent or know, etc.
She was last seen in Sutherlin, which is about an hour south of Eugene. Her car was found about 45 minutes north of Eugene. I’m starting to wonder if somebody didn’t harm her and take her car and ditch it in Linn County. And they say that she’s probably with her dogs, but what if she isn’t? Maybe the dogs got separated and were found by random people somewhere else.

Hmm. The dog part sounds like that Heidi (can't think of last name) case in California where the dog was found in a luxury high rise apartment building and her ex husband is pointing the finger at her boss who was in trouble for financial things. In all three the vehicles were found. Collier is the only one the body was found.

I am not saying they are connected, I know they are not, just seems to be not a good time for women lately going missing... But then isn't that always the case... Women and children mostly. Men too but the majority is women and children always.

Just strikes me that they are or were in places no one seems to think they knew of or would go to, etc.

She's a real estate agent. BTW you can schedule posts on Facebook pages. What scheduling means is you can make a post and schedule it to post at a future date. Mentioning this due to posts on her business page.

Collier at first all thought was a RE agent and it lent to some theories but she was an office manager for a realty co. In this case though, it could play in... Easy way to get to meet with her...

She has been gone a long time already...

From everything I'm seeing she's an agent. Can you cite your source saying she isn't?
I mean Deb Collier in another case. Not this one. I don't have the source offhand but I saw many a time that she was actually a front office manager for a realty company. I can try to look for it later if I get a chance. Of course maybe people got it wrong, wouldn't be the first time but I am fairly certain it's fact.

Oh, no need. I didn't catch you were talking about someone else.

I kind of guessed that was maybe it. They aren't related but the similarities struck me of the cases. Her car too was found in a rural area she was said not to frequent that anyone knew of and her body was found in the woods. Worked for a realtor. Unsolved with questions yet. Also a fairly recent case. Similar age, I think she was 59.

If you've seen the documentary Ghosts of Highway 20 or heard of the serial killer John Ackroyd, this is the same area. (Where her vehicle was found.) I say this not because there's any connection, just to indicate the area.

I wonder if Tammy had any previous connections to Oregon or had ever been. This would be a LONG way to go for someone else to randomly dump a vehicle.

Never saw that documentary. Sounds like an interesting case.

Looks to be about a six or seven hour drive from her county to that area. Long way from home and definitely probably not showing real estate I wouldn't think. It said she was last seen in Sutherlin Oregon but was she by herself?

But what if the person that maybe snagged her somewhere is from the Linn County area? Also, there are a lot of lakes around there that people go to as a destination.

I'm assuming since family said she had no connections in that area they knew of that she didn't have a vacation planned there, at least not to her family's knowledge.

I guess a perp could live there and have taken her there but she had to have been in the area to encounter him and again family doesn't seem to think she had a reason to be there or so it sounds. And if he encountered her in California then he was far from home and why drive her all the way to his area and/or how did he control her during the drive? Not putting right but it seems unlikely.

It seems more likely to me she did take a trip but her family didn't know...?

They have the last day and town she was seen in Oregon and I'd have to assume that is video. And I am guessing she was alone? If she was, then it would seem she willingly and alone went to Oregon...?

We really don't know enough I guess. Was she married, dating, single? And I guess I shouldn't say "was" as she is just missing, not necessarily dead.

Tammy Pitkin, 54 years old, was reported missing on October 26th but had not been seen by family since October 14th.
Were she and her family not super close, or did she give them a story as to why she might be out of touch for a bit? 12 days to report her missing?
Her Facebook page says she is married. Her husband wasn't concerned for 12 days?

According to several posts on Facebook:
Tammy was extremely active on Cody Alert (a local group for missing and found pets) when I was an administrator and worked at the Tehama County Animal Shelter as a volunteer. She then became a real estate agent and is a truly lovely woman. Please help find her!

I didn’t realize she was married!

On the surface, it sounds to me like she went to Sutherlin for some reason. I’m not sure what it could’ve been? So I’m wondering if somebody grabbed her in Sutherlin and then did whatever they wanted to do and then took her car and hid it in a place that they were familiar with near Sweet Home. If that’s the case, the dogs may have been lost in Sutherlin? There really isn’t a lot of information being given at this point.

12 days to report her missing? I'll say this much, that's a bad marriage more than likely. If it wasn't unusual if out of town or going to be gone for the two of them to not have daily contact, then well... Or the marriage was going to heck. I am basing this off what I lived in the final worst years of my marriage but even without that, NOT normal. If the marriage was bad it likely wasn't unusual for both to never be home or one to never be home, etc. Totally guessing but 12 days??

So if that is the case and I think it is a reasonable assumption if no one reports her missing for that long, then red flag right there. Hub doesn't care or doesn't know where she is or that it is unusual or some such...

The only article here which I read gave no indication of who the family members even are who say she had no connections in that area. Could be hub, could be grown kids, no idea. At 54 her children, if any, are grown and she may be a grandma but likely no one at home except her and husband...

So they remark on her last known area in Oregon and on what day but was it video, a cell phone ping, was she alone or not and where? No details, no video released, etc. as to explain how they know this. [I haven't looked at this case elsewhere just going by the little bit here] If this is just based off a cell phone ping, it means nothing. If it is video inside a store or at a bank it would show her I guess but not necessarily if she is alone or not or just went into a store alone, etc. We don't even know what gave them this info though do we? Store video, traffic plate reader, etc.? Cell phone? Video? GPS?

It sounds as if they aren't even sure if the dogs were with her or not just assume so...?

This probably isn't a suicide because she wouldn't kill the dogs I don't think and they haven't shown up anywhere.... She COULD be voluntarily missing but why ditch the vehicle somewhere like this...

I know where I'd lean except she was "seen" in Sutherlin. I'd like to know where they get that and the details of where, who with, etc.

You and me both! And Sutherlin is very small. There’s some roadside businesses there and I’m merely assuming she might have been seen gassing up there, but have no idea for sure.
