SHARI RENAE BOOTH has been missing from Anacortes, #WASHINGTON due to a diving accident - 19 May 2008 - Age 20

Booth went diving with a partner, as part of a larger group. She did not resurface and an extensive search of the water turned up no sign of her. She is presumed to have drowned.

Dec. 20, 1988 - May 19, 2008- Shari Renae Booth, 19, of Brush Prairie, WA, disappeared at Rosario Beach near Anacortes, WA when she did not surface following a dive in Puget Sound with her Walla Walla University scuba class. Despite an extensive search, she has not been found. Shari attended Meadow Glade Elementary, then Columbia Adventist Academy, graduating with high honors in 2007. A freshman biology major at Walla Walla University, she planned a career as an equine veterinarian. Shari loved all animals, but especially horses. She was a member of Range Riders 4H club for 6 years competing successfully at both the county fair and on the state fair team in performance and jumping. She was a talented artist and photographer, with her work receiving awards at both county and state levels. She was also an accomplished pianist, played the French horn in band, and sang alto in the school choir. Shari was a member of the Meadow Glade Seventh Day Adventist Church. She loved to travel and had visited all 48 contiguous states, Canada, Mexico, England, Ireland, and Scotland, and planned to study art and language in Italy next year. She also went on mission trips to Mexico and Appalachia. Shari was outgoing and enthusiastic. Her smile lit up the room. She wanted to help people, and wanted her life to make a difference. She tried to always follow God's will, with heaven as her ultimate goal. Shari is survived by her mother, Marsha Booth; sisters, Sharla Carlson and Sarah Booth; nephew, Derek Carlson; aunt and uncle Laurie Booth and Bill Simon; her beloved horse, Rooster; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Lowell S. Booth in 2006; and her grandparents. A memorial service was held May 24, 2008 at the Meadow Glade Seventh Day Adventist Church, and a celebration of life service at Walla Walla University on May 28, 2008.
