‘Potential to be in danger’: FBI, Davidson County deputies search for missing Thomasville teen​

The FBI’s Charlotte Field Office, the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office and the NC State Bureau of Investigation are asking for the public’s help finding 15-year-old Shaina Rose Trail.

A Davidson County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson says Trail has the “potential to be in danger.”

She was last seen at her home in Thomasville on March 29, 2023.

A surveillance camera captured images of a vehicle near her home at the time she disappeared.

It is believed to be a 2020 to 2023 octane blue Mitsubishi Outlander Sport with dark-tinted windows.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — A missing Davidson County teenager has been found safe.

Law enforcement confirmed on Thursday morning that Shaina Trail, 15, had been found, after she was last seen at her Thomasville home on March 29.

Investigators said Elijah Kennedy, 28, from Pennsylvania, is in custody and is charged with child abduction and felonious restraint.

Man arrested, charged with abduction after 15-year-old Thomasville girl found safe
Deputies said the teen, Shaina Rose Trail, went missing on Wednesday, March 29. Officials said she was abducted and found Wednesday night on April 5, in Bristol, Pennsylvania. They said she was tracked for several days after her disappearance.

The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office said she was on social media platforms talking with people out of Ohio that had sexual predator charges. They said she does remote learning and was home alone when it happened.

According to the FBI, a surveillance camera captured images of a vehicle near her home at the time of her disappearance. They said the vehicle was found in Pennsylvania and was used to take her there.

Investigators said Elijah Kennedy, 28, from Pennsylvania, is in custody and is charged with child abduction and felonious restraint.

They also said the teen is in good condition and healthy. She will be reunited with her family.
