Classification: Non-Family Abduction

Vital Statistics

  • Date Of Birth: February 20, 1979
  • Age at Time of Disappearance: 3 years old
  • Height and Weight at Time of Disappearance: 2'6; 35 pounds

Circumstances of Disappearance
Nicole Bryner's mother told police her daughter was abducted March 9, 1982 at a Giant Eagle in the South Side.
An extensive search provided few clues as to her whereabouts. Four years later, the mother's then-boyfriend allegedly confessed he had punched Bryner and accidentally killed her. Police never found the body he allegedly buried in a wooded area along Timberland Road in Brookline. Charges were never brought against the suspect, despite the alleged confession he made while serving time on burglary charges.
Three years later the boyfriend was arraigned on a homicide charge, accused once again in Bryner's death. He said he placed Nicole's body in a plastic bag the next day and drove to a wooded section of Brookline, where they buried her body. No body was found in the supposed burial area and the charges were dropped.
Nicole has never been found.

Small victories... are huge.
Missing child, a confession by the perpetrator, and.. nothing!? Nothing at all?? :thud:

Thinking about this precious baby's last moments puts a knot in the pit of my stomach...She deserved so much better then that in life and was denied it, she atleast should be granted a proper burial.
Prayers that she is found :praying:
Fly high little angel

So her own mother claimed she was abducted?
Boyfriend confessed?
No charges? None at all carried through??
Wow.
What fortunate people and what an unfortunate child.
Boyfriend was charged and convicted of killing Nicole 13 years ago. He died in prison in 2011, Nicole’s biological father is still alive from what I can find. Her mother died in 2001 and her relatives still miss her to this day.

Hi Mysteries. Thanks for the information. Glad he did pay. But I wish they made him tell where her body is.
