Circumstances of Discovery
The unidentified woman was located in a wooded area off the side of a remote stretch of Alabama 5. Although the cause of her demise was unable to be determined, her case was briefly investigated in connection with the murder of Cynthia Louise Hanes (who was discovered near Munford, Alabama in 1982), indicating that the case may have been treated as a suspicious death.

Despite extensive enquiry, including comparisons of her tattoo and fingerprints to other missing persons, she was never identified. She was later buried in a pauper's grave at Oakhill Cemetery in Jasper.
