WHAT HAPPENED TO NATHALIE?
TROS MISSING keeps fighting to clarify the disappearance of the now 30-year-old Nathalie Geijsbregts (left, pictured below left is an aging photograph showing how they would look in 2009). This Saturday she's been missing for 20 years. At the time of her kidnapping 10-year-old Nathalie is on Tuesday, February 26th, 1991 last seen when she was waiting at a bus stop for the school bus in the Belgian Leefdaal. Witnesses claim that they are from an unknown man in a car, a gray Toyota, SAT.
Final words
Her parents, Eric and Anita talk about that morning on February 26: "In the morning around half past eight we gave Nathalie a lift to school." Bye, "said Nathalie just before they close hit the door." Have fun, "we said, yet. "
It turned out the last words Nathalie told her parents. Since then there has never been a life stabbing.
Art Missing
In 2003 MISSING initiated the action "Art Missing". Artists were inspired by stories of stragglers from long missing. In the case of Nathalie concerned that the poet Walter Hein (left picture). His artwork "Here I am" was a collection of poems, inspired by texts father Eric at pictures of Nathalie had placed in his scrapbook. In the broadcast of TROS Missing from April 25, 2004 one of those poems was read. And does the following poem:
Do you remember my first word?
And my last
unimportant farewell at the bus stop?
But how many words are in between
pronounced without having been noticed?
How many questions were lost
in the everyday hubbub?
How would you like to live
want to hear again
which disappeared with me.
Create the silence wake up, Dad.
and hear the love in the noise.
Give the death and knows no chance
that every time I called by name,
I will be born again and again.
Hope
Hoping to find Nathalie alive many years ago as good as gone. "You're 99 percent sure she is dead. But for that one percent you have to keep people awake. Maybe there was something missed something overlooked. That opportunity should grab you," said father Eric Geijsbregts.
In the broadcast of TROS Missing from March 3, 2006, he showed a picture of aging Nathalie, showing how they look on her 25th might look. Such age-progression photo is taken using various old photos of Nathalie and her family. Experiences in the past, the usefulness of such pictures since then proven.
One culprit was never found. In 2007 weleen arrested suspect Hugo N. However, a test with a lie detector and the further slight evidence against the man pleaded him free.
Michel Stokx
The main suspect in the disappearance case, however, was the serial killer Michel Stokx. He was officially classified in 1999 as a suspect. The Assen Belgian resident, was arrested in the Netherlands in 1992 and sentenced to twenty years in prison and TBS for the murder of Jessica Laven (11), Marco Weisser (13) and Salim Thattil (10).
He was in 1998 during his detention at Sjaak H., a member of the gang of Venlo, have been told that he is behind the disappearance of Nathalie. But before this Justice could find out, however, something happened that research severely impaired.
Burnt
On September 18, 2001 nudged Stokx (according to a statement from Justice) during his occupational therapy a bottle of turpentine and then hit terror fluorescent fitting. His body burned thus for more than 60 percent. He was transferred to the burn center in Beverwijk, where he died on 25 September. The media speculated that it was a murder or suicide. Justice concluded from this, however. Even stranger was as a man with 'confidentiality' (eg a lawyer, physician or mental) immediately announced after his death that he knew Stokx also supposedly killed in 1986 missing Cheryl Morriën from IJmuiden. Although this loss as resolved by the police considered her body was never found.
Counteraction
The parents of Nathalie blame the Dutch police opposition. "They have been withholding important information about the alibi of Stockx and so the researchers from Leuven (Belgium police) put on the wrong foot," said Anita beers, the mother of Nathalie.
As long as there is still no clarity about the fate of Nathalie Geijsbregts, her parents remain combative Anita. "As long as your child is not found, you keep on searching If necessary a lifetime.."
Since helps TROS Missing now in by again drawing attention to this disappearance case.
