Authorities believe the body was dumped at the location it was found and she had died elsewhere.

An autopsy did not reveal her cause of death. Investigators, however, believe foul play was involved in her death and are treating the case as a homicide.

Isotope testing indicated the female was possibly native to the Northern United States or possibly Canada.

Body found in Arizona desert ID’d as missing California teen

A young Jane Doe found dead in a desert area between Hoover Dam and Kingman, Arizona, in 2016 was recently identified using genetic genealogy technology, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday.

Arizona authorities have determined the young woman found dead was 18-year-old Kimberly Rena Jones, who was reported missing out of San Bernardino, California, in 2017, according to a Tuesday news release.

Officials at the time shared a composite sketch of the teen on social media and compared her characteristics with missing person reports nationwide, but investigators failed to find a match. Mohave County detectives had not been aware of the Califonia missing person report for Jones, according to the Tuesday release.

The teen’s cause of death had not been determined as of Tuesday. Detectives continue to investigate. As early as November 2016, detectives considered her death a possible homicide.

The picture here is obviously an older one. She appears young and is wearing braces. On Charley, She looks vastly different and the picture appears as it may be a mug shot. I think she may have unfortunately gotten mixed up in the wrong crowd. Sad.

It could be a bad DMV picture, too. Some of the ones I’ve had in the past looked like a bad mug shot!

I saved a screenshot because it’ll eventually disappear and people won’t know what we’re talking about on this thread. This is from the Charley page.

I saw the orange too. Just a theory. The DMV here lets you look at your pic first and retake it if you want to.

They don’t let us do that at our local DMV. We have a DMV nazi there. (i.e. soup nazi)
