AMBER Alert suspect photos: 2 women accused of abducting infant twins from Livonia

Police are searching for two women accused of abducting 3-week-old twin boys from Livonia.

The disappearance of Montana Alexander Bridges and Matthew Jace Bridges prompted an AMBER Alert to be issued Monday morning. Police said they are looking for the two unknown women, who may be in a black Jeep with chrome trim around the passenger window. The license plate number is MI EHD1130.

The Jeep was last seen near the Quality Inn on Plymouth Road in Livonia.

Police said the boys are believed to only be wearing diapers.

"As far as I know, my daughter and her family was at a hotel staying because their home had gotten broken into," the boys' grandmother Lolita Vann said."A lady reached out to my daughter via Facebook saying that she could help my daughter with diapers; she needed a place to stay, different types of resources because she was a new mom."

Vann said that she believes the woman who reached out to help kidnapped her grandsons, based on what she has heard from the children's father.

I have a FB friend that lives there. She said it took 7 hours for the AMBER alert to be issued. That's all I know.

There's something wrong in this story/case. Not sure what. I'm not trusting the parents even. For all we know it could be some group effort with a GoFundMe hoped for or who knows what. I am not saying there is REASON to suspect the parents as little is known but I see no reason to clear anyone either.

I wonder why an Amber Alert took SEVEN hours to issue for vulnerable babies. Was there some connection between the women who took the babies and a parent or did they express they were going to take care of the babies or what?

I don't know, not a clue, but I'm saying something is off here.

So there was a break in at their home and so they were staying in a hotel? Who? Two babies and mom and dad? It doesn't really say whether dad was there does it? And mom was what, telling this on FB and asking for help and donations of diapers and more? Let's just say this much, just because you went to a motel doesn't mean you wouldn't have had diapers to bring with nor could afford them, etc. Who broke in, was it reported, etc.? Because if I read correctly this all comes from grandma and FB and what was told to all right?

I'm not saying the parents weren't devastated and scared to death, I'm simply saying there is a LOT missing here.

2 arrested after abduction of twins in Livonia prompts Amber Alert

A man and woman were taken into custody by Livonia police Monday in connection with the abduction of a set of 14-day-old twins.

Roughly 12 hours later, police said the twins were dropped off at the front desk of the 9th Precinct of the Detroit Police Department. The man and women were arrested by Livonia police about two hours later.

The twins were taken to a hospital to be checked out, where they were reunited with their parents.

But at 9:30 a.m., they were dropped off at Detroit Police Department's 9th Precinct. Without revealing who dropped the boys off, police say Montana and Matthew were rushed to the Children's Hospital of Michigan in Detroit for further evaluation.

The investigation is ongoing and there are several unanswered questions.

The twins' grandma and auntie, Yvette McDonald and Tanisha Bridges, say the unexpected happened on Saturday when the father, Calvin Bridges, opened the house door to unknown men who came looking for the mother, Joslyn Morgan.

"'(They said) We are here for Jas Morgan.' So when he said she is sleeping, they left. And moments later, people came in ski masks trying to break into the house," Tanisha Bridge said.

"That's the reason why she ended up at the hotel because she didn't feel safe after that happened," McDonald said.

It's not clear how Calvin Bridges defused the situation. Still, the family believes those unknown men rode in the same Jeep Grand Cherokee that was driven by the two women who allegedly abducted the twins the next day and are also believed to be the mother's acquaintances.

"The mother supposedly befriended these two ladies on Facebook, saying she needed help with clothes and diapers, which I don't understand that because I took a ton of stuff and I know other people have," said Yvette.

Sunday night, around 10:30, the twins were reported as abducted. Yvette says before the babies were handed to Detroit Police, Joslyn received text messages from the two women.

"The ones I saw and witnessed said they would return the babies to the police station. And there was another text saying I have my own kids, why would I want to kidnap your kids," McDonald said.

"My brother has no beef with nobody," Tanisha Bridge said.

Uh-huh. They have several questions. I don't doubt that one bit. This sounds, as I said, like something else is going on here. Sounding not too sure of mom. Not sure about him other than yeah, how did he defuse men coming to look for her. All ODD and something else is going on here. If true, they took her plenty of stuff (which I take to mean diapers, etc.) yet she is on FB asking for things/help.

And wasn't it supposedly two women that took the kids and now we have a man and woman arrested?

This is not similar at all in some ways but has some similarities to a couple of cases in the last months imo. Fake stories for one.

Remember the woman and her sister whose house had been shot at and there was a man she had worked with who she said raped her and there was a charge against him or something? That's one that got quiet and think she was found to be a total liar. Carlee Russell would be another. Not identical cases by any means but false stories and lies. I'm thinking that may well be a similarity here. LIES. Oh and in the other two, others were in on it and in this one, it seems as if some may have been as well.

4 arrested in twin newborn Amber Alert case in Livonia; many questions remain unanswered

A day after an early morning Amber Alert for two twin newborns shook up metro Detroiters, law enforcement officials offered few new details about what had happened Sunday night and Monday morning — and what its investigation had uncovered.

Tuesday evening, Livonia police released a three-sentence statement that said it was continuing to investigate and had "made four arrests related to the kidnapping of Montana and Matthew Bridges," and the case is being submitted to the Wayne County Prosecutor.

Neither the suspects nor the charges were identified.

The prosecutor's office told the Free Press late Tuesday it had not received a warrant request.

Most of what law enforcement has said about the case so far has come from statements and a brief news conference on Monday, where police officials, including Detroit Police Chief James White, Livonia Police Capt. Gregory Yon and Acting FBI Special Agent in Charge Devin Kowalski, praised the alert’s outcome.

The closest official account of what happened Sunday night came from Yon, who said: "The lady left them with two friends and when she came back, they were gone." He did not specify whether the woman he was referring to was the twins' mother.

When asked to clarify what he meant by "friends," he called them "friendly acquaintances."

Yep. Going right down the path that imo seemed kind of obvious. She just needed diapers badly but went to get a soda. Maybe I'm wrong. But clearly she never heard of Carlee Russell in recent weeks. But then when you see LE is limited in what they can charge them with what's the big deal... This one has REAL babies involved, not a fake child in a diaper and T shirt on an interstate.

I'll take may words back if I'm wrong. And apologize. Not sure about dad but I'm not throwing him under the bus quite yet.

FOUR people though. First it was two women and then something about a man and woman. Mom is not innocent, I'd about bet on it.

Maybe I shouldn't go this far but I will go one step farther and stop. We had kidnapped REAL twin babies. A mom in need of help desperately due to a home robbery or some such and posting about it and the help needed. Her new babies were commodities and likely she will now lose them. Someone who can do such probably should. Or as messed up as our world is, will she get them back. The ones that should don't or shouldn't even have them taken and the ones that should get them back. It isn't just getting older, that many of us think all is bonkers, this world is truly haywire and will continue on its path to destruction and implosion caused by people who don't give a sh*t and anyone who runs one small town to a county to a nation that don't give a sh*t and the few that do care, working in politics, hospitals, schools, nursing homes, law enforcement! who want it to be right can't do a dam* thing about it.

One phrase that has been around forever and has never been truer is "DIVIDE AND CONQUER". It works. And it has been going on for a very long time.

Okay, sorry, Definite sidetrack there but each generation realizes it less and less.

Back to this case, it was questionable from the start. So was Karlee Russell, so was and were so many. Many get tamped right down from further news. Gofundmes have probably helped people in serious need but there's also this culture of people donating to what they don't know sh*t about.

Her own famly wasn't it talked as if this woman had diapers etc. and had provided. She probably just needed money for a soda pop (see i used both words lol to please all) and a lobster dinner and some cheese its or something. I hate cheese its, not sure why anyone eats that garbage.

Rant over. This case involves the mother and I'd bet on it and said it before it even reached this point. Not trying to be right, just saying it is sickening and was obvious but of course don't say so at the start because you may just be coming down on a mom truly griving and panicked and I wouldn't do that to anyone. But it was obvious.

They haven't been named but should be.

AGain I will apologize if wrong and eat my words.

So then what is the part about the mom leaving ithem with friends and going down to a vending machine. And she asked for diapers and money didn't she, and not someone to babysit her kids so why would you leave them with "strangers". As it says, they were friends.

How old are mom and dad? Don't know that it's been said.

And where was she posting this stuff and who was she telling where they all were to find them in person? Just known friends on something like FB or to the public at large?

So two people allegedly took of with these babies in the time of a vending machine trip? So apparently she gave out room info, motel info, etc.?

I'm not done with this yet or buying it is all of it. If it is, then as I said I will admit to having the wrong impression but I don't see that yet. Who were they going to call with a ransom and to what number? Or were they going to post or message on social media a ransom demand (eyeroll).

Something else that makes zero sense is why would anyone think a mom too broke to buy diapers could or would pay a ransom? Makes NO SENSE.

And she just let them in her hotel room when she has two babies and had just had a break in at home?

It isn't adding up. If you're going to ransom chldren, you don't take those of someone apparently broke and too poor to feed or clothe her children.

What was she doing looking for money and diapers? Per some relative they had provided those needs.

Nope. The four in custody may be guilty but I don't see where it can be the entire story as again, it doesn't gel. Not yet anyhow.

That's some really rotten luck having break ins and then your children kidnapped when no one would have had to know where you were staying but for you. Was she not concerned she was telling the break in people her home was empty and where they WERE at this hotel....???

Tell me any of all of the above makes sense. I guess if pretty dumb and more than naive it might but even that's a stretch.

Livonia Amber Alert: Everything we know about group conspiracy to kidnap twin babies

Three of four people arrested in connection with the Livonia abduction of two 14-day-old boys were formally charged Thursday with conspiring to kidnap the babies from their mother.

The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office is accusing Curtis Lee Slay, 18, Davion Demetrius Sherman Chandler, 19, and Shantell Re-Azia Jones, 23, of working together to steal the twin boys from their mother.

Officials said Jones befriended the twins’ mother with a plan to steal the children, and that Slay and Sherman Chandler “aided in this effort.” The group allegedly promised the mother “some much-needed assistance to gain access to her children with the express intent [of] stealing them,” Prosecutor Kym Worthy said.

At around 10:10 p.m. on Aug. 20, officials say two of the defendants were at the Livonia hotel with the infants and their mother. When the mother briefly left the room to grab a drink from the vending machine, the individuals kidnapped the children, officials said.

It was not said which of the four defendants physically kidnapped the children, but two females were captured on camera walking in the hotel and covering their faces.

The mother called 911 and reported that her children were missing from the hotel. Livonia police Cpt. Gregory Yon said Monday that the individuals involved were said to be “friendly acquaintances.”

Jones, Slay and Sherman Chandler were each charged with the following:
  • Two counts of kidnapping - child enticement.
  • Two counts of unlawful imprisonment.
  • One count of conspiracy to commit kidnapping - child enticement.
  • Three counts of larceny in a building.
The three were expected to be arraigned Thursday, Aug. 24. Mug shots would not be available until after their arraignment.

The fourth person who was arrested in connection with the abduction is a minor, and a separate charging decision was expected to be released next week, officials said. Their identity has not been released, but they are believed to be a 16-year-old female.

They offer her much needed assistance but plan to hod the babies for ransom. Ransom from who? And also why was assistance needed? There is a mom and dad here (unclear if together). Who gets on social media begging I gather strangers who then become friendly acquaintances for money and for diapers, etc. Then apparent is so tempted by the offer, gives the motel room number, leaves the babies with them to get a drink when they just happen to take them, etc. At minimum she was stupid and risked these children. I think I'd like to know more about the attempted robberies or whatever that took her to the motel with babies. Was she advertising the home address on social media at that time? There is stuff missing here. At best stupidity and naivete and looking to have someone else fund what she needed. Where was dad as to helping tow watch, feed and dress and care for these infants? Extended family said she had enough of all and they provided it or some such. Is that a lie? Do we have a deadbeat dad because it would seem she was on her own and had to beg for help. Or are they together and again their home was broken into or something right? Hence the fear and need to be at a motel.

Can anyone tell me there aren't questions remaining here that need answers? I suspect this one isn't finished as to such questions and what was really going on and if it is, then something is wrong here.

Teen is 4th person charged in plot to kidnap 14-day-old twins from Livonia hotel

A teenage girl under the age of 18 is now the fourth person to be charged in connection the plot to kidnap two infant twin boys from their mother in Livonia.

A 16-year-old girl, whose identity is not being released due to her age, was charged Monday, Aug. 28, for her alleged involvement in a conspiracy to kidnap 14-day-old boys from a hotel in Livonia. Two other teenagers and a 23-year-old woman were also charged last week in connection with the abduction.

This is making absolutely no sense. I'm trying to picture them even coming together and plotting all this and for how long, days or a minute, and a number of them of varying ages to kidnap two babies for ransom when it appears no one had money to pay ransom? to actually physically go and knew or were told where by the mother I assume, etc. and then REALLY take two infants and KIDNAP them and again, then what? Where was a ransom demand going to go and to who and how? Where were the babies taken and which of these "young" people took care of TWO infantts?? It doesn't gel and it doesn't add up. Oh I'm sure they probably are guilty but there's some piece missing here, not sure what, but there is., that we don't know.

This was KIDNAPPING of BABIES. They didn't go rob a house or take someone's wallet. TWO babies and they actually took them. Who in these babies families had money for ransom AND if someone did, how did this group know that?

How old are the mother and father? I think in my limited time one day I looked through things here to see if I could find their ages but didn't see them.

Emotional testimony reveals new details in kidnapping of newborn twins in Livonia case

The three adults charged in connection with the kidnapping of newborn twins in Livonia appeared in court for their preliminary hearing Tuesday, Sept. 26.

The case involves a fake pregnancy, a woman earning the trust of a young mother expecting twins on social media and a shootout in an attempt to actually kidnap newborn twins.

Jazlyn Morgan cried in court as she relived the events of Aug. 24, the night her 14-day-old twins were kidnapped from her hotel room in Livonia.

She came face-to-face with the woman accused of taking her babies in court and described how 23-year-old Shantell Jones earned her trust over months by offering help with the babies.

“She asked if I needed anything for the twins, pertaining to baby items, and that she had some items she wanted to give away,” Morgan recalled.

While Jones was offering gift cards and diaper wipes, Morgan did not know that Jones was posting on social media that she also was pregnant with twins.

Morgan, her twins, and the twins’ father were at the Quality Inn in Livonia because the day before, two women and two men armed with an AK-47 tried to break into their home while the couple and the twins were inside.

Morgan did not suspect Jones, who continued to offer help and invited her to the hotel room.

Surveillance video captured Morgan going to the lobby to grab a drink from a vending machine, trusting Jones in the hotel room with her twins. Cameras captured her twins being taken.

Jones’ girlfriend testified that Jones came home with the twins hours later and said she just had them with the help of a midwife.

Jones’ mother testified that a friend called her, said there was trouble. After seeing the Amber Alert, she called her daughter.

“Whose babies?” Jones’ mother said. “Give them their babies back.”

Curtis Slay, Demetrius Chandler and a 16-year-old girl have also been charged in the plot.

What stood out in court was what a great witness the mother was. She described what the women looked like, what they were wearing, what they were driving and what her children were wearing.
