According to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children , Sept. 17, 2019 marks 3 years since the remains of a young girl were found along a Texas Interstate.

The homicide investigation has haunted Madison County Sheriff, Travis Neeley since the discovery.

"It sends all sorts of chills through your mind, how in the world are we going to go about figuring out this case,” Neeley said.

The sheriff said authorities responded to the area off Interstate 45 after someone called to reports skeletal remains.

"I get out there and it's all in a little container, a suitcase and some bags and from observation of the suitcase, it's not an adult. this is going to be a child,” Neeley said.

In the suitcase with the remains of a girl believed to be between the ages of 2 and 6, was a pink dress with hearts and butterflies reading "Follow Your Dreams."

Along with the shirt, a more promising clue, a feeding tube that would have been surgically implanted to help the young girl with her medical condition called Micrognathia which is where the jaw is too small effecting the way you eat.

"It has a number on it so, we thought 'Yes, okay, we are going to get something off of this.’ The problem is, we found out it's a standard manufactured number and they send out thousands of those around the world," Neeley said.

Once the tube turned up no leads, authorities were only left with an image created by a CT scan of the girl's skull.

"What's going through my mind is 'Oh my god, what happened to this child? How did this child wind up over here," Neeley said.

As the case reaches its three-year mark, researches are still finding more clues linking the girl believed to be Caucasian or Hispanic with thick-dark hair to the Southwest United States through pollen analysis.

Authorities believe the child had been left along the stretch of highway between Dallas and Houston for 3 to 5 months before being found.

The cause of her death was never determined, though it was ruled a homicide.

No new exclusions have been added to the list since posting this almost a year and a half ago.

military issued camo shirt (desert digital pattern)
Could this child have a parent in the military? Perhaps one who went on deployment and wouldn't have anyone asking about their child?
Also possible it was picked up second-hand, though.

Some doctor/nurse/specialist KNOWS this girl. Yet another child with special needs being thrown away like garbage.

I tried to lighten the bag photo to read that label on the bottom. It looks numbers in it?

Also, it looks like Mon Petit is a pretty common kids brand.

Also, a size 4 diaper is not huge more like a small 2 year old or younger, but a 4T dress?
Was it a hand-me-down?

I wonder if they mean like a 4T diaper like the dress even though it is probably not the way packages are numbered/sized?

The things with her like the military issue camo shirt makes one wonder. It doesn't say it is a child's shirt or adult?

The thought I have is if this girl had issues and a feeding tube, etc. since birth and was a few years old, at least three or more, I would imagine someone managed and took care of her in her early years... Could for instance her mother have died or been deployed and a stepfather then had care of her and did this...? Or even vice versa...? But the parent would eventually come back and report the child missing one would think... Of course I guess there is no way to know--the child may well have been abused through her life and a parent eventually lost it...

She is special needs, are there any foster or adopted children unaccounted for or who even may have been in some type of children's home...

I see they excluded a child from 1958, that must have been automatic basically because I doubt that dress would have been around in 1958 nor the diaper.

Only three have been excluded? Are there no more missing children unaccounted for to check for a match in the US? I mean good if not but hard to believe...

One last thing I noticed is her full on facial reconstruction does not look as deformed or disfigured as they seem to say she was so it could lend to someone not recognizing her easily from that sketch.

I also wonder how they determined southwest and perhaps Arizona...

Her health and being a tubie would really cut down the possibilities quickly as far as missing children.

That's true unless she came into someone's care before getting a tube, like say foster care, they never reported her missing but maybe bio relatives did but are unaware she had a tube?

That's why I wonder if it was likely she had one since birth? I am guessing she did though... So that would make that thought of mine unlikely.

It's too bad they can't get all records of children with tubes in the right time frame put in medically in the US and with her deformities but I suppose that's not possible. Maybe they could circulate the health conditions to all hospitals... Probably unrealistic, unfortunately word does not spread nor things get done like that...

Officials seek help identifying girl with possible Arizona ties whose remains were found

Five years ago, the bones of an unidentified female child known simply as the "Madisonville Jane Doe" were found in a suitcase near an interstate in Madisonville, Texas.

Investigators are asking Arizonans for help identifying the child because evidence found after 2016 suggests that the unnamed child might have ties to areas of southeast Arizona.

Investigations of the body found pollen that is normally found in the southwest United States, particularly southeast Arizona, or northern parts of Mexico.

"Someone knows something and we need to continue to work to give this young child her name again," the news release said.

It's interesting that it is also found in northern parts of Mexico as well and that she was found in Texas. Maybe AZ is more likely but if she came with her family or something from Mexico, it might explain no one who knew them or her identifying her as who knows how much if at all this has circulated in those areas of Mexico... Just a thought.

the digital camo would have automatically excluded the one from 1958, I would think.

isotopes could be how they got an idea of where she was from.

True desert digital is a Marine Corps issue. Is there a Marine base in that area?

Also, just my opinion that the largest retailer of Parent's Choice diapers would be Walmart.
Looks like there are a few possibilities within a few hours of Madisonville, per Google. There's a Marines Reserves training center in Waco (about 100 miles northwest), a Reserves center in Austin (about 140 miles southwest), a Reserves base in Galveston (about 145 miles southeast), and a full base(?) in Grand Prairie (Dallas/Fort Worth - about 155 miles northwest). Fort Hood, an Army base, is also close - 135 miles west of Madisonville.

Maybe they were military at one point. But after getting out is when they adopted. I say this because I would think at least a few people would know if someone has a disabled child like that. Being a base there are so many people.
