A 15-year-old autistic Fairfield boy is missing in what police say is one of the most bizarre situations they've encountered.

"I have never seen anything like it,'' Fairfield police Chief Leon Davis told AL.com. "It's one of those made-for-TV kind of things where people make up the strangest thing they can and then write a story about it."

Davis said Fairfield police and the Department of Human Resources are conducting a joint investigation into the disappearance of Jason Sims, Jr. Authorities in October 2014 first began looking into child neglect claims with Sims' family.

Media - JASON SIMS JR. has been missing from Fairfield, #ALABAMA since 1 Jan 2015 - Age 15. He may have been gone way before that date, though!

This case bothers me. Supposedly missing at age 15, but last photos of him show him as a young child, maybe 4-5? No medical records.

The charges against Jason Sr. and Wright for aiding the dependency of minors have been dismissed. In November 2019, Jason Sr. pleaded guilty to misdemeanor failure to report a child; as part of his plea bargain, the charge was reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor. He was sentenced to twelve months in jail, suspended, and two years of probation. Jason Sr. still states Jason is not his son and he doesn't know the child's whereabouts. His defense attorney has gone so far as to suggest that Jason never actually existed.

How bizarre! I hope he is located safely and soon! 🙏

I'm really curious about what caused the mother to become unconscious for so long that resulted in her hospitalization, and posed such a that authorities had to wear hazmat suits (assuming there is a correlation). I know HIPPA won't let them disclose that info, but does anyone have any theories?

Hmmm. Could be drugs. Could be she had diabetes and her blood sugar got out of control. Seizure. Brain trauma from abuse. Could really be many things.
Hazmat could be unrelated, just similar to many other "neglect" stories of kids living in horrible, nasty conditions.

The day this case made it to MSM the Fairfield Police Chief did state what her medical condition was however the 'HIPPA police' contacted the newspaper to immediately retract that portion of the statement. It is my understanding and opinion that she had a dangerous infection that could have caused delirium. As of current, she has remarried and moved away from that area. I'd be interested in hearing her publically ask for help in finding Jason Jr.

AIDS? When someone that has HIV has an accident the clean up team wears hazmat suits.
