Haleigh's photo is shown age-progressed to 15 years. She was last known to be sleeping in her home, in the area of Hermit's Cove in Satsuma, Florida, on the evening of February 9, 2009. Haleigh was discovered missing during the early morning hours of February 10, 2009. She may still be in the local area. Haleigh's ears are pierced.

Haleigh was last known to be sleeping in her family's trailer in the 200 block of Green Lane in the area of Hermit's Cove in Satsuma, Florida, late in the evening on February 9, 2009. She went to bed at 8:00 p.m. Her father's live-in girlfriend of five months, Misty Janette Croslin (sometimes identified in the media by her later married name, Misty Cummings), went to sleep in the same room at 10:00 p.m. Haleigh's three-year-old brother was also sleeping in that room.

Haleigh's father, Ronald Lemyles Cummings, finished working second shift and arrived home sometime after 3:00 a.m. on February 10. Misty told him she'd just discovered Haleigh was missing from her bed. The rear door to the trailer was several inches ajar and the screen door had been propped open with a cinder block. Ronald and Misty called 911 at 3:37 a.m. to report Haleigh's disappearance.

The police found no sign of forced entry to the trailer, but they are uncertain whether the back door was locked. Ronald and Misty have insisted that it was, and Ronald maintains the trailer was broken into.

Haleigh's younger brother told investigators that a man dressed in black had come to their home that night and taken his sister. Authorities aren't sure how much credence to give to his story, given his age. An extensive search of the area turned up no sign of Haleigh. Her father stated she wouldn't have left home by herself at night, as she is afraid of the dark.

In October 2009, six months into the marriage, Ronald filed for divorce. He cited irreconcilable differences as the reason, mainly the stress caused by Haleigh's disappearance and the subsequent police investigation and media attention. The divorce became final within days; since Ronald and Misty had only been married a short time and they didn't share any property or have any children together, there was little to discuss.

Police repeatedly questioned Misty about Haleigh's disappearance and looked into the possibility that she wasn't in fact at home when the child disappeared. Misty describes herself as a devoted caregiver to Haleigh and her brother and said she had been home the entire night and hadn't left the children alone.

Investigators have been publicly skeptical of Misty's story, stating she failed four polygraphs and one voice stress test, and changed her story multiple times; they described her accounts as "consistently inconsistent."

Wow, I wouldn't know where or how to start.
You don't seem to understand where I'm coming from and I don't see the point in trying to explain it, lol.
I feel a bit the same so we can agree on that lol.

Hey Gray was on Tom's show re Delphi. Tagged you in that one. Was a pretty good watch.

At least there are a couple we agree on lol.

A couple of others we likely never will.

And good morning. I have an earlier start today so up in the dark. Not as eary as frickin' Friday is going to be but earlier than I like.

Good morning!

The thing is, I wasn't implying that Misty was framed. (It was a sting, yes, but she was obviously guilty and convicted and justifiably so. Now, the sentence is appallingly unjust but that's a whole other pile of b.s. assoc. with this case.)
And I've never said Misty lied but you say I did and it seems to me that as much as you and I have discussed the case, you'd remember that 1) no, I don't think Misty lied, and 2) that her (and Tommy's) "changing stories" are actually false confessions.
I mentioned the Anthony case because there were charges for lying and my point was that there wre charges because there was proof but in this case, there wasn't proof thus no charge!
Before the sting, LE had what they described as inconsistencies, which are not lies but merely info subject to interpretation.

I haven't watched any YouTuber's in seems like quite a while. I've recently watched parts of trial (Brian Camp in MA) and I've watched the new Netflix doc by Joe Berlinger re the JonBenet Ramsey case but other than those two cases, I haven't watched anything to do with true crime.
Re Delphi, I can't imagine what more I'd have to say about that case.

Well we agree on that guilt and conviction then.

I have no idea if the sentence is appallingly unjust. I now some states are very SEROUS about such offfenses and sentences can be harsh.

Apologies then, I thought you did basically say that but I'd have to look back but don't need to, if you said you didn't or didn't mean such, then I'll take your word for it about her lying.

I remember the basics, that you don't think her guilty, do I recall everything we've discussed? No. This one is important to me but it's not like it's a main one for me or one much happens on or my top ones although I've known about it for all these years. I've done too many, talked to too many, or my memory is just not what it was. I know overall your opinions on it, same in some others.

You do a few I believe and I basically used to do tons of cases, still do actually but am dialing back here on adding new ones.

I don't know if I agree that inconsistencies, depending on WHAT they are and how inconsistent aren't necessarily lies. May make it hard to charge certainly.

Some people don't think lies of omission are lies (I'm not talking of that in a legal or charging regard) but imo they are. LIke for instance in Delphi if fact that KA said to RA he NEVER told her he was on the bridge... That's a huge omission and a lie without saying a word imo. Chargeable, no, but significant, it is to me.

As far as how you end on Delphi, well, I'm going to have more to say depending on sentencing, appeals and more, and whether he actually ever OFFICIALLY confesses, etc. My stance on it is done and has been for a long time so nothing is going to change my opinion there. The jury got it right. And I think we agree on that one.

Just catching up. Been busy, as I'm sure you are, but could have caught up one night or one morning but there just were't many new posts overall on anything I was interested in or anything to respond to so did other things, watched other things, etc. and the couple here weren't urgent and it has been a week. Black Friday today. MY it was A DAY and the entire week is going to end well over 40 hours. Also now I have a six day stretch which I request to NEVER HAVE but I ended up with one. And started it off with Black Friday.

It's fun or can be for a bit or somewhat but it gets old really fast. I mean it went well for all I think, well prepared, customers were actually really great, and I had to be there at 5:30 and was up since 1:30 before heading. It's been a day. Then I went out for dinner but about at 2 p.m. lol with a coworker friend. We've wanted to for awhile but our schedules NEVER match and today they did. We were done at the same time at 2, i am never done that early nor work that early. She does though. We spent probably 2.5 hours chattting, two drinks, DINNER even though went at 2 or after leaving work.

This was probably no more than a mile maybe from work? And we couldn't even get out of our parking lot towards any of the driveways from where we park. And we had a backup plan too if the restaurant was too busy on the main drag. It wasn't so that was GREAT. I'd say because it's more of a bigger dinner/meal kind of place than lunch, etc. and of course we hit at midafternoon. But the TRAFFIC down the main drag and waiting through several cycles of light changes at some spots, that took some time just to get there. So we probably only sat for more like two hours but kicked back for awhile even though both were ready I'm sure to get the shoes off, etc. but it was worth it.

I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving. My daughter came over yesterday. For me it was the only day to do laundry, take care of the cats' needs, etc. before a six day stretch and an early day today, so no turkey dinner, and I cooked nothing but she came with a full blown meal, all the toppings, you name it that she made (nothing even close to turkey lol, totally different) and man it was exceptional. I got what I needed to done. She stayed over even though she didn't have to get up in the wee hours like me and let herself out later after I left and locked up.

She lives in this city (different area) but I don't get to see her much with our schedules and it bites. She of course has Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sunday off. I don't end up with an extra day even if it is a paid holiday or we are closed. That's the sucky side of retail, at least how it goes there.

Anyhow hope all is well and you had a nice Thanksgiving, that all here did actually.
