(CNN)Four Minneapolis police officers have been fired for their involvement in the death of a black man who was held down with a knee as he protested that he couldn't breathe, officials said Tuesday.

The FBI is investigating the incident, which drew widespread condemnation of the officers after a video showing part of the encounter circulated on social media.

“There’s an allegation here that Mr. Floyd ingested a controlled substance as police were removing him from the car — a car, by the way, that has been searched twice and, to my understanding, drugs have been found in that car twice,” she said. “This leaves Mr. Hall potentially incriminating himself in a future prosecution for third-degree murder.”

I heard this the other day, at least the part about incriminating himself and he was the one who was vocal in the beginning, was going to be his voice, never stop until justice was done.

The part of Floyd ingesting a controlled substance is one stated as facts by many in chat, some even say he swallowed a baggie. The thing is it seems to have become fact and I see many asking if this was actually ever verified and do people really know that to be a fact. I honestly do not know that to be fact. Does anyone hear know it to be fact?

The trial today ended abruptly by the judge, at least an hour early, without warning, mid-witness actively testifying at 3:30. It was strange and never happened before quite like that. Something was up imo. Not sure what.

I thought the coroner determined it was asphixiation that killed him.

Well there is a lot of controversy about that too. You'd never know it from reading some remarks. Many state he died from overdose. They do not say probably, they state it as fact. There is also confusion over I think the family had two autopsies or opinions done. I have heard those will not be used in trial, not sure if that is fact either. Hard to tell fact from fiction in listening to people, I can tell you that.

If it was a baggie,it surely would have been found and verified in the autopsy. It wouldn't have been part the stomach in that amount of time and they check stomach contents

Those people need to read the autopsy report on the tox screens. I didn't see any lethal levels of anything.

That's what I figure but you should see the # of people stating it as fact. I try to ignore reading chat and just listen to the trial as it is ridiculous. I forget how many come on nationwide and often worldwide as well, lol. I don't watch it religiously either, just here and there.

So...I'm a recovering alcoholic and drug addict. Did I deserve to die and be tortured by police when I was using? Was there nothing good inside me?
Maybe I shouldn't be here at all.
I agree entirely. I don't care about anything Floyd did or did not do, what he was or was not, it has nothing to do with the length of that hold well past where there was any reason for it. And more.

Agreed. This should be about the hold. Was it Used because that’s what law enforcement is taught to do? Did it cause Mr. Floyd’s death? Did the defendant use it incorrectly or deliberately too long? If I was on the jury those are the kinds of questions I would want answered.

Of course defense is not up yet but so far the answer to that is "no". This hold is not taught, it was nothing seen before more than one officer testified to... As for causing his death, several experts yesterday said it did. They also flat out denied fentanyl and other causes. It was not a good day for the defense. Even Scott Reisch, the defense attorney, said as much. Of course, the defense will have their own experts... Just a little update. I though the experts were very good.

I watched it here and there during jury selection and the first maybe two days to three of trial I saw most of the witnesses but did not stay glued to it or see all testimony. Over the past several days, I have watched none. I do know that watching it is an entirely different perspective imo because you see the actual testimony that MSM bits that are seeking I guess the more interesting headlines.

While I have shared some parts of jury selection and trial, I have not really given an opinion since it all started. I have my opinion, which depending on facts that come out and testimony, may change--but it basically falls where most I have discussed it with fall, Floyd was no saint, he did resist arrest and not just for a moment either, but Chauvin's hold, the length. of it and more were wrong as well. To me, he is guilty but I am undecided on what charge--it certainly does not fit imo first degree murder which is not on the table anyhow.
I completely agree. And I'm sorry. But you do have to look at prior police interactions when he did not cooperate either. I think it's relevant.

Well the judge doesn't. I am pretty sure it was disallowed before trial. They had that motion in between jury selection. This incident has nothing to do with others. I agree he acted much the same but it does not apply.

Now there is evidence from the M.E
There were Fentynl and Meth levels in his system that could have been fatal. Where he had stated he was "hooping" earlier(Administering a drug anally).
Defense tried to mention hooping. It was objected to and stricken. Several experts yesterday testified to Floyd's levels.

If you have to look at Floyd's prior behavior (who is not on trial), then you also have to look at Chauvin's.

18 complaints against him on his official record resulting in 2 letters of reprimand. Several instances of using excessive force. Three police shootings, one of which was fatal.

But prior behavior, for both the suspect and the victim, does not make one guilty or innocent in THIS instance. Only what happened THIS time. And like GrandmaBear said, the judge disallowed most prior instances from BOTH sides.

I know. I am not on Chauvin's side. He shouldn't have under any circumstances done what he did. I just thought the blood levels were to be of note. I did not know they were disallowed. They made it seem like it could have been a factor last I heard. But enough to not hold Chauvin not responsible in some manner. Absolutely not.
