Beautiful red hair this child has. I hope they find her. It sounds like they are not thinking abduction nor foul play as they are searching the area for her.

A 4 year old out walking the dog?

Yeah, the same thought crossed my mind. I am not the best at searching maps but was going to try to see what this location might look like, if I figure out how to do it with just a specific address.

I don't see the last posts but regardless, there is chatter there was a print or prints found in an area not searched. Here is the FB account of the guy who has it posted. Allegedly it is from family and they are waiting for confirmation from the news. Praying hard! It has been over 24 hours

Here is part of his post: (Colin Michael)

"BREAKING NEWS: A print has been found in the search for Vadie Sides In Lee County.

This info came straight from family and friends And we are still waiting for Law Enforcement to give us confirmation as more details and we are fully working to confirm if the prints are those of Sides.

Stay with News 2."

There is more, trying to figure out how to link or copy.

Well, not confirmed yet and she has not been found. LE did confirm they are following many leads but would not specifically mention prints. This child has been out there two nights now if that is what happened. And the dog has not come back either. :(

Wow, I wonder what changed? They were discouraging volunteers, they had some that showed anyhow but did not want grid searches, etc. interfered with, or plans. This will be the third night tonight, this is not looking good. Unless they have some idea of where she is and need more help? I don't know. Just praying.

By the sounds of it, it seems they might have been miscalculating how far the wee one could have traveled and set up too small of an area for few to search. Little peeps can move might fast and far if they are inclined to.

I try to stay away from rumors but I have seen that allegedly it was 2.5 hours before LE was called where the info put out there doesn't really say but makes it sound like the caregiver looked away for a second or minute and she was gone and then looked for a bit and immediately called LE but they never state a time frame. I also saw this morning in an actual article I believe that she was last seen near the creek, however, that could be news just commenting because there is a creek in the general area. One other thing I saw, that was just a comment so I can't verify it, is the caregiver was 70 or so--stressing I am not sure that this is the case just something someone said. I do notice that I don't think they have even said if the caregiver was a he or a she, not that that matters if she simply wandered off. Finally, I saw yesterday, again have no way of knowing this is true, that the dog is elderly and almost no sight and hearing. Our neighbor's dog was like that and even my young granddaughter was used to, as were we all, watching out for him because he would at times wander out of the driveway and down the road or ditch or creek. My granddaughter never went to do anything herself but would run tell us, she knew I watched out for him if I saw him. Again, this all may not even be fact and I try to stay away from that but maybe the child went after the dog if it was her dog and she knew they tried not to let it wander. All so sad, is all I can say. Maybe I shouldn't share these things, they are not verified...

it all makes sense though.

I also keep trying to think what an average 4 year old (or 5, not sure which age she was closer to) knows.

Yeah, I mean at the very least it is if looked away for a second or minute and then you start calling for her, she should be very close by. That is just using logic or making sense of things. I agree. For a child not to respond or come back, then why? Age may have something to do with it and I hate to say it, but every generation is different. If the person say is truly in their 70s and they are in a rural area, she may well have been let out to play outside on her own. That's what many in that era did with their own children, the fears weren't there so much and more. I don't know. Just speculation on my part, I don't know what's true. But we know she has not been found and apparently traveled further than thought or it is not what happened. I have seen pics of the child and family and all seem like she was a very well loved happy little girl. I would like to know more about the caregiver but not in the way that everyone starts attacking the person online elsewhere. Just age, etc, male, female and some general facts.
