On Aug. 8, 1995, two sisters left their family's residence in the Troup area and never returned. Today is the 20-year anniversary of the day Misty and Crystal Ortega disappeared.

According to initial reports, 15-year-old Misty and 13-year-old Crystal, were believed to have left of their own accord, but officials later dismissed the theory.

Some agencies also report that the girls disappeared from the Mixon community.

As part of its ongoing search, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children is again asking for the public's help to locate Misty and Crystal.

Misty and Crystal are white females with brown hair. Misty's eyes are hazel and Crystal's are brown. Their photos are shown age-progressed to what they may look like today.

The public is urged to call 1-800-THE-LOST (1-800-843-5678) with any information concerning the disappearance or current whereabouts of Misty and Crystal. Calls may be made anonymously.
