Mario Tymich resided at 6018 Brynhurst Avenue. Crystal was visiting him on June 30, 1994. It was the last time he ever saw his little girl.

On that day, Crystal and her brothers were throwing peaches over the roof of a house to see who could throw the farthest. The boys ran home when they heard their grandmother calling for them because the family was going to watch “The Lion King.” When the boys looked back, Crystal was gone.

The little girl’s disappearance prompted LAPD to call a localized tactical alert, which kept officers on duty after their shifts ended. LAPD canceled the alert at 4:30 a.m. on July 1, 1994, but continued searching for Crystal on their regular shifts with zero luck.

Jane Newman said that Mario’s neighbors had seen Crystal wandering off several times on June 30th and brought her back to her brothers. Jane also said Crystal had talked about running away.

In early 1996, Detective Tim Brewer of the Corvallis Police Department in Corvallis, Oregon, asked for the public’s help in locating Crystal Ann Tymich after she was reportedly seen near the Corvallis/Benton County Public Library and Cub Foods in September and October 1995. However, the authorities provided no further information. (Note: not far from where Kimster lives).

Crystal’s case was revived in 2005 when more than 100 law enforcement officials searched the house directly across the street from Mario’s.

Authorities never publicly said if the search was linked to Crystal’s disappearance. The only things they found were animal and fish bones.

In 2005, Jeffrey Tymich, Crystal’s brother, said that a female reverend lived in that house at the time of his sister’s disappearance. She often invited the neighborhood kids into her home for religious services. She did not live there in 2005, and her identity is unknown.

Crystal Ann Tymich would have turned 32 years old on September 23, 2019.

I have to wonder if someone in the neighborhood was watching her because they noticed no one kept a very close eye on her as she had previously wondered away from her brothers.
The alleged sighting in '96 confuses me. Why would they think a young child would be walking around two years later unless someone had her. If someone had her, I doubt they would have her seen out and about.

The 6 year old talked of running away? That also seems strange.

Yes if the neighbors brought her back several times she clearly was not being watched and people likely knew it. Searching the neighboring home was interesting but perhaps if empty or changing owners it was just a chance to do so of one in the neighborhood? Or do you think it means something?

I would think with the search they would be following a lead.

Makes sense. So a female reverend lived there and she did often invite the kids in. It probably means nothing but I notice in the missing record it had her disappearing from in front of her home but in the article, the brothers ran home when the grandmother called which sounds like they were at least a bit away from the home. I also wonder, not that it means anything, whose houses they were throwing peaches over and if all neighbors were happy with this activity. I mean they are going to land somewhere and likely have to be picked up. It also makes me think such an activity may have been noticed by many in the neighborhood and possibly that they were not being supervised.

I wonder if as the kids in the neighborhood got older, they told about strange occurences in the home. Just speculating on my part.

That's a thought for sure. Even her brothers maybe. I didn't see how old the brothers were when this happened.

Or on that same thought maybe from the start there were hints or stories about her but they just never had enough to say or do much about it...?

Could be they wanted to search at the time, but the owner wouldn't let them and the new owner would? I've heard of that before. Do we know if the peach tree was in her yard?

I don't know. I was wondering too if there was a tree, whose house, etc. I mean to me, like it or not, there are going to probably be neighbors not happy with what the kids were doing. I had the thought of perhaps it was an abandoned house perhaps... Could have been their own house too but did not sound like it. Then the thought crossed my mind that (not saying anyone was lying this is just total speculation) maybe a neighbor came out and yelled at them and the boys took off and she did not as quickly and someone caught a hold of her? This is assuming it was not grandma calling to watch a movie but something else sent them running home? Of course, one would think the boys would have owned up to that so unlikely,I am just speculating.

Haven't we seen a couple of cases where they search a home in an area years later just because they get the chance? Maybe about to be torn down or a new owner allows it, etc.?

Yes, I've seen cases like that but can't recall any off the top of my head. @SheWhoMustNotBeNamed is better at recall than I am!
