Australia AUGUSTUS "GUS" LAMONT: Missing from Oak Park Station, South Australia - 27 Sept 2025 - Age 4 (20 Viewers)

This little boy has been missing for well over a month now.

No evidence of a crime but there are some disturbing things which are touched on in the video above. A picture was not provided of the boy for six days. Mom allegedly was not there but out trying to find lost sheep or some such with grandpa I think it was? Child definitely was not supervised it doesn't seem. Took a gun out on the porch when a reporter came. While upset with media is understandable, that seems extreme. It is claimed they had the gun to shoot a snake on the porch but someone underneath said it is illegal to kill snakes in South Australia or some such. LE also stated they had the gun to kill a snake but that seems unlikely...

I don't know why but this one just struck me, maybe because he hasn't been found despite draining the dam, etc.

The father did not know he was missing until LE notified him so it makes me think the parents are not married or are separated.

Just some oddities.

Wait, what? I didn’t think owning a gun was legal in Australia? Or maybe it’s just out in the bush they can own them. Yeah I think that’s it.

This is a very strange case. Doesn’t sound like a good outcome will come from it!

I know I saw in comments that it is illegal to shoot snakes in South Australia and someone also said something about guns and shooting people or pointing at people or some such, wish I could recall in detail but I don't on that comment. Either way it seemed clear, there was no reason to have a gun in hand that would have allowed them any options that were not illegal. What I really couldn't believe is the female officer backed it up and stated he had the gun to shoot a snake on the porch... All I can figure is they are trying to keep the family happy and cooperative.

You know, the grandmother was allegedly inside watching the baby sibling, I think a brother, but still we have another child unsupervised with water nearby.

looked for updates, did not find much. There was a Daily Mail article but it wanted a subscription which was odd as I can always read Daily Mail articles, so I was unable to read that one.

This one doesn't really have any new news but does mention some thoughts and the foot print. they don't seem to give much importance to the footprint (le) and I personally think it looks large for a child's footprint if that is the actual photo, but it is hard to tell size without something to relate it to.

One comment I've seen is that if snakes are so bad or deadly there you have to shoot them, why would you let a 4 year old child outside alone? True. This relates to the grandparent's story for having a rifle when confronting a reporter from their porch.

That's a good point about letting him out among the snakes! I wasn't allowed to run up a hill near my maternal grandparent's house because someone saw a rattlesnake up there one time.

yeah I thought so too, that it was one comment worth sharing. by claiming the gun was to shoot a snake on the porch, they are saying but our young grandchild can go play where there are far more, unsupervised.

i don't believe the snake story though, i think it was rage at the reporter.

Nothing really new. Despite the word "bombshell" in this headline of Daily Mail, there is NO bombshell in it. Typical of them to mislead.

There was a remark or two from a family friend and a pic of Gus's parents. I tend to think they are not together because dad only found out from LE later that Gus was missing.

I don't really see anything to suggest foul play other than that shotgun and anger at the reporter, etc. but I don't like it when we don't have a last sighting by someone OTHER than family either and there isn't such here, at least not yet...

Police drain dam in search for missing South Australian boy

A dam on a property in rural South Australia has been drained as police continue their search for four-year-old missing boy Gus Lamont.

In a recent update on the case, South Australia Police say they, with assistance, have drained and searched a dam on a property in the state’s mid-north, “however, there has been no sign of missing four-year-old Gus”.

“Police, including Major Crime and Water Operations Unit, along with SES attended the property this morning.

“The operation to drain the main dam into the southern dam commenced at 9.15am today.

“It took about three-and-a-half hours to drain the large dam, pumping water at approximately 15,000 litres per minute.

“A total of 3.2 million litres of water was removed from the dam.

“Police divers have thoroughly searched the main dam and the holding dam, including clearing of weed beds, however, there was nothing of significance found.

“The 3.2 million litres of water was then pumped back into the dam, with very little loss of water in the process.

I'm not sure why they make that sound as if it is being done today, that happened at least a few days ago. The dam draining I mean. The most recent thing now was the third land search.

At my grandparents farm there were plenty of snakes including Cottonmouths. My grandparents didn't let us venture dar. Or we were accompanied by an adult.

I thought so... Wasn't sure if it was a different dam that was searched today, or just a late article about the same search.
Yet the article itself was dated currently and in it it said today. Confusing article.

Pretty sure there was no other draining plus I looked for new news today.

A few things in this one. Explains the family relationships. I guess grandma is a transexual, or grandpa. Instead of being hype it confirms that. Also they are saying as far as they can determine, no one outside the family has seen Gus in six months. They do point out they live very remotely so maybe that is not that unusual... Anyhow worth a read I'd say.
