Arson and Manson were allegedly abducted by their father, Derek Rowley, on August 18, 2021 in Price, Utah. A felony warrant for Kidnapping a Minor was issued for Derek on August 20, 2021.

According to the Carbon County Sheriff's Office, Derek Rowley is Manson's father, but is the subject of a protective order that bars him from being around his son. It is unclear whether he has any relationship to Arson, the younger boy.

Officials with the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office said 33-year-old Derek Rowley was taken into custody around 1:20 a.m. Saturday in Elko, Nevada.

They were able to make contact with the suspect and took him into custody. He was not with the boys at the time.

Investigators said Rowley told them where the boys were, and they were able to find them safely.

The boy’s mother was also with them, which was not previously released.

Officials said the boys were in good health.

This whole thing was a hot mess.
I hope those boys can get some stability in their lives. (I'm not going to judge which parent is "more fit" or if either one of them are. But the boys deserve better than this.)
