An Amber Alert has been issued in Michigan after a 15-year-old girl went missing in Grand Traverse County on Sunday.

Anna Mae Taylor of Garfield Township is believed to be in the company of a male named Brandon Reyes, who is also from Garfield Township, officials shared in a Facebook post.

Officials say Reyes is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Police say the two are believed to be traveling in a silver 2006 Chrysler 300 with a personalized Michigan license plate of “BREYES.” The two were last seen together early Sunday morning in the area of Keystone and Hammond roads in Garfield Township.

Police say there is evidence that Reyes may have assaulted Taylor. Family members and law enforcement have been unable to contact or locate the two individuals, officials said.

A Michigan Amber Alert has been issued for 15-year-old Anna Mae Taylor after she was allegedly assaulted and abducted in Grand Traverse County, local officials say. Anyone with information is urged to call 911 immediately.

Anna was last seen with the suspect, 20-year-old Brandon Reyes, in the area of Keystone and Hammond Roads in Garfield Township, near Traverse City, between 2 and 4 a.m. on Sunday. Specific details about her disappearance were not immediately released.

“There is information and evidence indicating that Reyes may have assaulted Taylor and neither the family nor law enforcement have been able to contact or determine the whereabouts of these individuals,” police said in a statement.

Anna and Reyes are believed to be traveling in a gray or silver 2006 Chrysler 300 with Michigan license plate “BREYES.” Reyes is considered dangerous and may be armed with a handgun and a hammer.

How old is the boy? Can't seem to find that. They went missing between 2 to 4 a.m.? It is just hitting the wires? He "may" be armed, he "may have assaulted her?" He "may have a handgun and a hammer"...

First and foremost, I hope she is found safe and that he is as well.

Second, that sure is a lot of "mays"...

Third if in a vehicle with basically his name on the license, it should not take long to find them and if put out immediately, this morning, I would think they would have been found by now.

Again, I hope they are both found safe.

But on its surface, another odd one... Quite a few of them lately...

Far as I see no warning not to approach him that he is armed and dangerous but he may be armed and dangerous... Kind of sounds to me like what is needed to fit criteria of an alert...

She may very well be in danger and I hope again they are found safe and alive...

Just saying we have had a few weeks rash of odd cases... Custody many, willingly leaving another one or two...

The Amber Alert for a missing 15-year-old girl out of the Traverse City area has been canceled after she was found.

Glad they are safe. Or I guess I mean she is safe is what it says. Found right in home county it looks like by deputies. Not much info, but again very relieved she is safe.

This one says they met willingly between 2 and 4 a.m. It says she is being evaluated in hospital and he is in custody. I am going to wait to form an opinion on this one but it seems pretty clear what likely happened here to me.

All are safe though and that's what matters.

A 20-year-old is accused of assaulting two teen girls with a hammer and threatening them with a gun during a kidnapping that led to an Amber Alert on Sunday afternoon.

Brandon Reyes is lodged in the Grand Traverse County Jail awaiting charges after being arrested just before 10 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, UpNorthLive reports.


Taylor and her 13-year-old sister met Reyes in the early hours of Sunday at a construction site on Lafranier Road, police said. He allegedly assaulted the teens with a hammer, and then drove them to a secluded area on Keystone Road where they stayed until morning. Reyes is accused of threatening the girls with a gun during that time.

At some point, Reyes allowed the 13-year-old to leave; she went home and told her mom about the incident, police said. Police were then called, and the Amber Alert with a description of Reyes’ vehicle was later initiated.


The sheriff’s office has requested charges of intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, felonious assault, kidnapping, torture and felony firearm.
