Andrew Gosden (born 10 July 1993)[1] disappeared from Central London on 14 September 2007 when he was aged 14. On that day, Gosden left his home in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, withdrew £200 from his bank account and bought a one-way ticket to London from Doncaster station.[2] He was last seen on CCTV leaving King's Cross station. Despite numerous national appeals for information in the years following his disappearance, Gosden's reason for travelling to London that day and his subsequent fate have never been established.

Andrew has been missing from his home in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, since 14 September 2007. He was last seen on CCTV footage at King's Cross Station in London later that morning. When Andrew went missing he was 5ft 3in tall, slim with light brown hair and brown eyes. He needs strong prescription glasses. He was last seen wearing black jeans and T-shirt.

Andrew was last seen at 8-30am as he was heading down Littlemoor Lane, Balby, Doncaster towards Westfield Park. Andrew returned from school after his parents had gone to work, and changed out of his uniform. He emptied his bank account – taking around £200 – and without leaving a note went to Doncaster station and bought a one-way ticket to London King’s Cross (refusing a return even though the cost was about the same).

It is thought that he boarded a train at Doncaster Railway Station at 9-35am on the day he went missing arriving at London Kings Cross Station at 11-20am. South Yorkshire Police released CCTV footage from Kings Cross Station on 14 September 07, the day he went missing, there are no confirmed sightings after this one.

Andrew Gosden: Two men arrested for trafficking and kidnap

Two men have been arrested in connection with the disappearance of a teenager who went missing 15 years ago.

Andrew Gosden, from Doncaster, was last seen on 14 September 2007, aged 14.

Two men, aged 38 and 45, were arrested on suspicion of kidnap and human trafficking in London. Both have since been released under investigation.

The older man was also arrested on suspicion of possessing indecent images of children, South Yorkshire Police said.

Both men were arrested on 8 December with the assistance of officers from the Metropolitan Police, and it is believed they are the first arrests in the case.

Det Insp Andy Knowles, of South Yorkshire Police, said: "Our priority at this time is supporting Andrew's family while we work through this new line of inquiry in the investigation.

Andrew Gosden’s family speak out after two men arrested over disappearance

The father of Andrew Gosden, who went missing as a teenager 14 years ago, has said the arrests of two men in connection with his son’s disappearance have “intensified” an emotional time for the family.

Detectives investigating Gosden’s disappearance from South Yorkshire in 2007 announced on Tuesday that they had arrested the men, aged 45 and 38, on suspicion of kidnap and human trafficking.

Gosden’s father, Kevin Gosden, said the family had been informed about the arrests, but had not shared the information so as not to “prejudice the investigations being carried out in any way”.

In a statement posted to Twitter, he said the family had “carried the burden of not knowing for many years” and that the recent arrests “represent a more intensified period of this emotional journey”.

He wrote: “We cannot add to the information in the public domain, but would like to thank the media, general public and the charity Missing People for their support at this time and over the past years of our search for answers about what happened to Andrew.”

Family of missing boy Andrew Gosden in turmoil after sex-trafficking arrests

The father of a boy feared to have been snatched by sex traffickers 15 years ago has spoken for the first time since the arrests of two alleged kidnappers.

Kevin Gosden’s son Andrew was only 14 when skipped school, took a train to London and vanished in 2007. Two men have now been arrested on suspicion of kidnap and trafficking offences, police announced yesterday.

Andrew, a high-achieving pupil at a Catholic school in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, had withdrawn £200 from his bank account and bought a one-way ticket but it has long been unclear exactly why he left the family home.

We used to have a thread for Andrew before the crash, which is why I started this one with the news about his case.
I can't imagine how his family is feeling. To know that your son was likely sex trafficked after running away / being lured away? But still not know where he is or if he's alive or what happened to him? 😭 I hope they're able to find answers now that they have suspects.

Andrew Gosden: Devices seized from suspects in missing boy case

Numerous devices were seized from two men arrested in the case of a teenager who went missing 14 years ago.

Police investigating the disappearance of Andrew Godsen took the electronics as the pair were held on suspicion of kidnap and human trafficking.

Officers said the devices could take "six to 12 months" to analyse.

In a statement Mr Gosden said: "We understand that police investigations will take several months to complete, so until that is the case, we do not know what to think and do not wish to speculate on any possible outcome."

He added: "We have carried the burden of not knowing for many years and recent potential developments represent a more intensified period of this emotional journey for us."

Vultures that KNOW kids make bad decisions.
That's what I was saying. They can spot one out of their comfort/ Element zone in a second and just see them as some way that they will benefit and see an opportunity to take advantage.

Andrew Gosden: Doncaster dad's heartbreaking message on what would have been missing son's 29th birthday

Kevin, father of Andrew Gosden, who disappeared 15 years ago when he was just 14 years old, shared the message on his son’s birthday.

He said: “Andrew is still missing. As we reach his 29th birthday, we realise that he has been gone for longer than he was here.

“The intensity of his not being here with us continues every day, a huge hole in our lives and our family.

“For me, I think the one thing we cannot lose is hope. Hope of reunion, hope of news, hope of an answer of any kind.”

Dad of boy, 14, who went missing 15 years ago says he has ‘huge hole in life’

A dad of a teenager who vanished 15 years ago has spoken of the heartbreaking realisation that his son ‘has been gone for longer than he was here’ on what would be his 29th birthday.

Andrew Gosden has never been seen again since withdrawing £200 and buying a one-way ticket to London in 2007.

The 14-year-old’s disappearance sparked fears he may have been sold into a sex gang.

Two men, aged 45 and 38, were arrested in December on suspicion of kidnapping and human trafficking.

Dad Kevin Gosden, 51, said on Sunday the loss of his child had ‘left a huge hole’ in his life.

Andrew Gosden: Arrested men still under investigation a year later

Two men arrested after a Doncaster boy vanished in London 15 years earlier remain under investigation, police say.

The pair were detained on 8 December 2021 on suspicion of kidnap and human trafficking following Andrew Gosden's 2007 disappearance.

South Yorkshire Police said devices seized from the men were still under examination.

At the time of the arrests in London, police said electronics taken from the pair, aged 39 and 46, could take "six to 12 months" to analyse.

Police send out message to family of Doncaster boy Andrew Gosden on International National Missing Children’s Day

Andrew Gosden went missing from Doncaster on September 14, 2007, when he was aged 14.

A Tweet from the police this morning said: “On this International National Missing Children’s Day we think of Andrew Gosden who has been missing since the 14 September 2007. Our thoughts are with his family.”

A spokesman from the missing persons’ bureau said: "Andrew we are here for you whenever you are ready; we can listen, talk you through what help you need, pass a message for you and help you to be safe. Call. Text. Free. Confidential. 116000.”

Andrew Gosden: ‘We all still miss him intensely’ says dad on missing South Yorkshire boy’s 30th birthday

The former speech therapist said: “Almost every day since he disappeared, I have struggled with crippling anxiety and depression, to the extent that it is barely possible to function.

"No matter how many years pass by without him, those feelings never change and are often intensified by seemingly small things that would not have been a problem before he vanished.

"After all the searching, appealing, praying and hoping, we all still miss him intensely every single day; it never seems to become easier.”

Not familiar with this case just read through it quickly but is there a chance he is alie? I'm unsure what would be better consideirng what they seem to think may have happened to him. What a very hard thing for parents to have to deal with and the not knowing if alive or not and what he may be going through if he is. I honestly don't know if I could get through it nor how they manage since hearing of these men and this possibility even wondering probably more than before and worse even than it already was, what he may be going through.

Heartfelt prayers for Andrew and his parents and all three can stay strong, in the event he is alive.

There's definitely a chance he's alive. Unfortunately those caught up in trafficking rings are very hard to find. I hope he can be tracked and brought home.
I hope so too but boy it would never be even close to the same person or child.

And 14 years old in 2007, he would now be 30ish. Short of absolute captivity with no trust or freedom given him or any access to anything, he'd be able to contact his family and he was old enough he certainly would remember them and his life with them. For those reasons alone, I find it unlikely he is alive. A 30 year old man would find a way to get out of the situation, call home, notify authorities, a neighbor, etc. unless again he is being kept in such captivity he cannot. And they took him as a teen, a child, would they still be keeping a 30 year old?

I guess it is possible and also possible he does not know anyone cares or wants to find him/brainwashed, etc. but it does seem like a stretch to me because of all these unlikely things that he is alive and he likely wasn't within a short period of time. Weeks or months at most and probably less. I hope I'm wrong though.

I've heard stories from trafficking survivors before. So many of them are ashamed of what happened to them, even though it's not their fault. They often feel guilty, disgusting, among other things. So many also become addicted to drugs during their captivity. Even if they do escape or are released, those addictions drive them right along with the guilt, fear, shame, etc.
So while there's a good chance he is no longer with us, there are also reasons why he could be out there alive still, even "free", and not have made contact.

Hoping you are right/he is alive. I guess I just figure at minimum they would let their families know they are alive even if asking that they not be told their whereabouts, etc.

One thing that did cross my mind is if with ah captor or in a relationship with one now that adult, etc and "willingly" so (in their mind even though being taken created that kind of thinking), that person may say to him you can't let your parents or authorities know or I will end up in prison and you will lose me/our relationship.

I do though think far more likely he is not alive (could go into reasons, hard ones/thoughts but will save all from thinking of the reasons that cross my mind that make it likely). I also think it harder now or has to be for his parents to hear of these suspects and know they are/were traffickers and the even harder unknowns and thoughts this brings more front and center and likely now. I am sure all those thoughts cross the mind when a child is missing and it is terrible but now that traffickers are actual suspects there likely goes those probably infrequent hopeful thoughts that he is with some nice family or a girlfriend and her family, etc., you know, just those hopeful but unlikely scenarios that they know to be unlikely but parents of missing kids try to hope for. Those thoughts have probably have went out the window with the news of these guys.

Andrew Gosden: Men released without charge in 2007 missing boy case

Two men arrested by officers investigating the disappearance of 14-year-old schoolboy Andrew Gosden have been released by police.

The pair were arrested in December 2021 on suspicion of kidnap and human trafficking.

Andrew was last seen on 14 September 2007 at King's Cross Station in London after boarding a train from Doncaster.

Det Ch Insp Andy Knowles said he was "confident the two men arrested played no part in Andrew's disappearance".

Andrew's parents, Kevin and Glenys Gosden, thanked police for carrying out a "comprehensive investigation" but said they remained "living in limbo".

South Yorkshire Police said the arrested men were both interviewed and had had a number of electronic devices seized and analysed by specialist officers.

"The investigation remains open and active and we would urge anyone with information to come forward," Det Ch Insp Knowles said.

"It's now been 16 years since Andrew's disappearance and we know in that time people's views, opinions and loyalties can change.

"Even the smallest piece of information could help detectives find answers for Andrew's family who have campaigned tirelessly for answers.
