Alaina’s mother told police that Elizabeth Rose Crofts, Alaina’s grandmother, picked her up at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday in the 1500 block of Malta Ave in Burley. Crofts was supposed to take Alaina to school, but she never arrived, according to the amber alert.

“[The child’s mother] went to Ms. Crofts’ hotel room at the Budget Motel where she found Ms. Crofts had checked out of the room,” the Cassia County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. Crofts had been told that she could not take Alaina.
Always first and foremost, I pray the child is found safe and all involved are.

Odd though. Grandma in a motel room, taking child to school was planned but was told by mother she could not "take" her which means what? That she couldn't have her or keep her or something but sure come take her to school... There's clearly more to this story than we will probably hear...

I pray it is one that since it is family in short order we hear the child is safe and located.

Crofts is reportedly driving a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix. She is likely in the area of Boise or has driven to Arizona. Crofts did not have permission to take Alaina, officials said.

Contact has not been possible between Duey and Crofts since Alaina was picked up.

Alaina Duey, 4, has been located and is with law enforcement in Elko County, Nevada, according to officials. A person believed to have kidnapped her was arrested.(NCMEC)
