The missing 7-year-old boy whose disappearance on Tuesday sparked an AMBER Alert has been located unharmed, Rochester police announced early Wednesday morning.

The boy - Akelise Johnson - was found unharmed inside a home within the City of Rochester around midnight, said Lt. Nicholas Adams of the Rochester Police Department. Further details on the circumstances were not immediately released.

Rochester Police Capt. Greg Bello on Wednesday morning said that officers are investigating and no charges have been filed in connection with the incident.

"Due to the circumstances of this situation and to protect the privacy of the child, I cannot release any additional information," he said. "Thankfully, the child is unharmed and in a safe place."
