Keir Johnson, 34, and her eight-month-old daughter, Chloe, were last seen on Sunday in the 1900 block of Hastings Drive, according to WAVY.

Johnson was last seen driving a black 2013 Kia Optima, and officers say she only took a few things for her daughter with her.

Hampton police trying to find missing mother, baby

Police are trying to find a mother and her baby who have been missing since Sunday.

Keir Johnson's family contacted police on Monday after relatives did not hear from the 34-year-old. Family members said that that is odd for Johnson.

They last saw her and her daughter, Chloe, at their home in the 1900 block of Hastings Dr.

"The last time I saw my baby was Sunday when I went to work. I haven’t heard anything yet."

Johnson took a limited amount of supplies for her daughter. She was driving a black 2013 Kia Optima.

Her mother said, "It's not her at all, at all. I know she usually calls me, anytime of the day. I have always been able to get in contact with her. "

Family of missing mom and 8-month-old girl are distraught, ask for help

A mother and her 8-month-old daughter are missing and the family is frantic. Keir Johnson’s family has not seen her or her 8-month-old little girl Chloe since Sunday.

“I’m doing terrible because part of me is out there and I need to find her,” said Rhonda Crews.

She said the two went to Buckroe Beach and were supposed to meet up with friends but never showed up that night.

She was driving a black 2013 Kia.

Her family hasn’t heard from her which they say is extremely unusual.

“She would never go anywhere without letting me know,” said Rhonda.

They say she left the house with very little, no extra diapers or clothes for the child.

”She is my heart and so is that little baby girl. I miss her so much,” said their grandmother Helen Crews.

Electronic billboards going up for missing mother and child

Electronic billboards are going up across Hampton Roads in an effort to find a missing Hampton woman and her infant daughter.

On Wednesday, Hampton Police say they need the public's help to locate the mother and child. To help spread the word about their disappearance, electronic billboards are going up across Hampton Roads asking for any information anyone may have about Keir and Chloe.

AMBER Alert issued for missing Hampton infant and her mom

Virginia State Police on Thursday evening issued an AMBER Alert for an 8-month-old girl from Hampton who police believe was likely abducted and is in "extreme danger."

The alert says police believe the infant was likely abducted by an unknown female and may be traveling in a 2013 black Kia Optima with a Virginia license plate of VAW-2197.

Police are also looking for Chloe Johnson's mother, Keir Johnson, described as a 34-year-old black female who was last seen wearing blue jeans, a T-shirt and glasses. Police said the mom may also have been abducted.

Police fear possible abduction of mother, infant daughter

Earlier in the week, Hampton police Chief Terry Sult said at a press conference that "diligent police work" and new information has upgraded the case to a possible abduction. Kier was preparing to take Chloe out to Buckroe Beach in Hampton.

Sult wouldn't detail how exactly police arrived at the conclusion that Johnson and her child had been abducted, saying only that the investigation had cobbled together nuggets of information from interviews, social media and technology.

Regional and federal partners have joined the case since Keir and Chloe Johnson went missing.

Holding on to hope, especially since such a serious effort by LE from the get-go. I just hate when days turn into weeks in this kind of case.

Amber Alert Expires for Virginia Mom and Baby; Both Remain Missing

An Amber Alert for a missing 8-month-old baby and her mother has been "terminated in accordance with AMBER Alert policy," Virginia State Police say, but the two remain missing.

However, Amber Alerts last for just seven days, so the alert for the Johnsons has now expired, police said Thursday night.

According to officials, it is believed that Chloe and her mother were abducted by an unknown man, and are both believed to be in "extreme danger."

An AMBER Alert was sent out for this missing girl and her mother, but was terminated on Thursday, May 18, after a seven-day activation period, which is standard procedure.

Newport News police chief issues plea to help find missing baby, mom

Newport News Chief of Police Richard Myers is urging the public to help find a mom and her daughter who were reported missing in April.

Myers said at a press briefing Wednesday he thinks someone has information that can help police find them and bring the family closure.

"We need to hear from you," he said.

Myers said he's aware of rumors on social media that accuse the department of not aggressively investigating the case. He said those accusations are false.

"Just stop with the social media," he said.

Myers said the department has had 19 personnel from six divisions working the case. These individuals have logged more than 2,500 hours investigating it, he said.

Police are urging that anyone with any information call the anonymous Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
