Gwinnett Co. Mystery | Young man's body found. Who is it?

Two years after a grisly discovery in a wooded area, police have a new lead in the mysterious death of a young man.

In July 2015, police discovered skeletal remains in a wooded area between Satellite Boulevard and Buford Highway near Suwanee Creek in Buford. The remains had been in the woods for several years, and investigators said that time had erased important clues. There was no clothing or personal effects near the body.

A forensic anthropologist turned to what they did have: a skeleton. It belonged to a man between 25-40 years of age and 5'3" to 5'7". He had multiple fillings and one root canal in the lower jaw. There was no obvious signs of trauma or foul play. There was no manner and cause of death.

    It's a mystery.

Now, the face behind that mystery is revealed. Kelly Lawson, a forensic artist from the GBI, released a forensic sketch.

"Exact information about hair color, hair length, or skin tone is unknown. The image is based on the artist's impressions," a Gwinnett County Police spokesperson said in a release.

The Medical Examiner did have one other fact to help solve the mystery: the remains do not belong to Justin Gaines.

Thanks @SheWhoMustNotBeNamed - that is quite some forensic sketch that has been done of that young man!

I hope it helps bring him home.
The face seems as if it would be easily recognisable.

Amazing what these people can do with nothing but bones.

Surely someone must be missing him.

Officials find more bones belonging to unidentified skeleton in Buford

The Gwinnett County Medical Examiner’s Office recently found four more bones belonging to an unidentified skeleton found in a wooded area of Buford in 2015.

A theory about the remains has also emerged.

“The Medical Examiner is theorizing that the man may have been associated with the contractors responsible for the construction of nearby subdivisions,” said Gwinnett County Police Department Cpl. Deon Washington.

The skeleton was found July 2015 in a wooded area between Satellite Boulevard and Buford Highway. Washington said the remains already been there “several years” when they were found.

That makes identifying the body a bit more difficult. Officials still haven’t found any personal effects for the man and haven’t been able to determine a cause of death.

Crime Stoppers tipsters can receive up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

Im wondering then do they think this man was a consstruction worker, or is it that the timing of his death is around the time of the buildings -
    Or do they think both.
Im not sure how to take the reports comments.

The medical examiner estimates the man was between 25 and 40 years old when he died.
He likely stood anywhere from 5-foot-3 to 5-foot-7.
His teeth had several composite fillings and he had at least one root canal involving a tooth on the lower jaw.

Washington said previously the medical examiner confirmed the remains do not belong to Justin Gaines, an 18-year-old Snellville native who has been missing since
November 2007 when he was seen leaving Wild Bills nightclub in Duluth.
