Investigation Into Missing Jupiter Boy Turns To Grandparents

Investigators believe they’re one step closer to finding a 4-year-old boy missing out of Jupiter.

An Amber Alert was issued Friday morning for Dominic Caprio.

He was last seen a day earlier when his mother left him at their home in the care of his nanny, Blanca Castro, 57. When she got back an hour later, both her son and the nanny were gone.

Castro was tracked down and arrested in Miami-Dade.

Dominic, however, was nowhere to be found.

The investigation then turned to his grandparents, Luis and Elizabeth Caprio, who live near S. LeJuene Road and Park Avenue in Miami. Jupiter Police said they’re driving a blue BMW.

That car is believed to be sitting in the couple’s driveway. It’s parked in reverse and behind a gate. But no one is home.

“My gut reaction is that it probably isn’t a misunderstanding,” said a neighbor, who asked not to use her name. “Just because, you know, it seems fairly suspicious that they’re looking for the car. The car’s there.”

Another neighbor, however, said he’s known the couple for 12 years and, according to him, the child has been living with his grandparents and goes to school in the area. He said this is not a case of kidnapping.

“They’ve been caring for the grandchild for several months, so somebody would have to explain to me how you can, you know, ‘abduct’ someone you’ve been caring for,” he said.
