On September 13, 1975, the body of an unidentified female was found on the 700 block of Artesia Boulevard, an industrial area in Compton, California. It is believed she died only hours prior to the discovery of her body.

She was found wearing a gold metal ring with a large black stone. Within the black stone was a gold colored flower. She was also wearing a white metal ring with one black stone and one white stone, a white metal chain necklace and one white metal bracelet.

She had short black hair and a 1-1/2"scar on the instep of her left foot.

Girl Found Brutally Slain 40 Years Ago in Compton Remains Unidentified

Four decades ago, the body of a girl in her early teens was found dumped on the side of the road near Artesia Boulevard and Wilmington Avenue in Compton.

She was naked and had been shot twice in the head before investigators believe she was thrown from a moving vehicle, according to Sgt. Frederick Reynolds with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

That was Sept. 13, 1975, and 40 years later the girl called Jane Doe No. 51 remained unidentified and her killer unknown.

The victim was found nude and had been dumped from a vehicle in the industria area of the 700 block of Artesia Boulevard. A passing motorist notified a security guard at a nearby business, who then notified police upon observing the victim's body.

The girl was shot in the head twice, rendering her unconcious. Her body was thrown from a moving vehicle; the trauma she sustained from this caused her death. Despite that her body was found unclothed, there was no signs that she had been sexaully assaulted or raped. Toxicology tests showed there were no drugs or alcohol in her system.

The victim was cremeted in 1975.
